Didn't see the game. Did we deserve to win? Listening to Charlie Nicholas (who never says anything good against us anyway) said that our defence looked very shaky, Carroll wasn't good enough and the only decent player was Suarez.

Not really. Kelly and Enrique were solid, both done well going forward, composed on the ball. Carroll is improving, linking up with Suarez a few times, nearly scored with a header that hit the post. Suarez was brilliant, Kuyt and Gerrard were looking sharp when they came on too

On balance we deserved it I think. Certainly had the better of the chances anyway. Defence did look a little shaky at times, with poor decision making, and Skrtel living on the edge, as he does.

Carroll was actually pretty good. If you only had half an eye on the game, as Nicholas no doubt did, you might say he wasn't great, but he certainly worked hard and had a couple of chances to score. It's progress, at least.

Carroll played alright today but when we play Adam and Lucas in the middle we do seem to lose control of games for long periods. I still can't understand what Henderson is bringing to the team that Kuyt wouldn't do (and do better). Carra and Skrtel again had their slightly dodgy moments although the Wolves goal did come from a bit of bad luck they had chances to draw this game which would've been a terrible result from 2-0 up. We are going to have to improve dramatically if we want anything from the next two games put it that way plus as has been stated on a few posts we really do need to start burying the chances we get.
On the positive side of things, both full backs played well, Reina was more commanding than recent weeks (although I do wish he'd catch more balls instead of punching to opposition players), whilst we aren't scoring freely its good that we created lots of chances today, Lucas and Adam played reasonably well and Suarez had a very good game (but he can cut out the ****ing sulking when taken off). Good to see Stevie G getting a few more minutes under his belt as well because we are going to need him in the next few matches <ok>
I guess if we take our current league position in relation to where we were at last year then we have to be grateful for the improvement but I really don't know what to expect over the coming games. We have to be really up for it against our local rivals in the next two games and hope and pray we start to put away the chances we create.

On balance we deserved it, because in the first half with better finishing, we should have been out of sight. The goal they got at the start of the second half possibly should have led to a Wolves revival, that never materialised. They had a decent spell in the second half, we weathered the storm and with better luck should have added more goals. It was somewhat a game of two halves, however its 3 points.
I would take the result at this moment over the performance in order to improve the confidence levels up. As for Suarez throwing a wobbly over being subbed, the Man United biased media may scrutinise and dissect that to the last and say he is unhappy. I would say that Suarez being annoyed about being subbed is a good thing. It shows that he's got character and he's got enthusiasm. I wouldn't read too much into it like the media obviously will.

The BIG failures for us were Henderson, Adam and Downing. None of them gave us an out ball when the defence were under pressure in the 2nd half. When every ball played out of defence goes to a donkey like Carl Henry who doesn't have a Liverpool player within 10yds of him you know that your midfield players have gone missing. Therewere times in the 2nd half we looked like we were under Voy - clueless!

I have to agree. I would have pulled Henderson at half time and stuck on Jay Spearing, Wee Jay may not provide the same energy levels but he does offer grit, and his ball retention is what was needed, we are very lucky that Wolves were unable to press the ball in the second half as our ball retention was dreadful. Henderson is a light-weight and there is certain games he should not start.
I reckon Kenny should pick and choose the games he plays as he was just as poor as he was last week when Spurs ran him ragged.

I actually think he does offer the same energy, and it's generally more effective too. Running around without ever getting on the ball (like Henderson did today) may well point to good fitness, but it's not gonna change a game. Jay's a decent tackler, will track back, and isn't scared to have a pop at goal. Himself and Maxi cancertainly feel a little aggrieved at not having played any league football this season. Both were excellent towards the end of last.

I made a point on another thread that if it were me, I would play Maxi as the spare central midfielder against Man U. I would tuck Lucas and Gerrard in and just tell them to sit in-front of the back four and press and bully and badger and be as uncompromising as they were in March. This allows a attacking quartet of Maxi, Downing, Kuyt and Suarez to do damage. It could on occasions be two marking four in Liverpools favour.

    Something like this
    Suarez.
    Downing Kuyt.
    Maxi

    Gerrard Lucas.

First of all that comment was made with no seriousness, purely as banter, it wasn't meant to be taken personally..

Second of all you all know what it can be like when we're losing and the WUMs come out.

Third I never said I expected all of you to be online, luvgonzo is normally at the game, or down the pub, Bozz has been around, Ze is normally around, not a problem.
