I have not been this excited since I was a kid at Xmas. It's been 5 yrs so hopefully the team will be up for this one. Anfield will be loud tonight.

They have a few Brazilians in their team, but based on Brazil's world cup performance that is not the threat it used to be. Still think they will defend like the Alamo and try and snatch a goal. We have to break them down and score early for them to make a game of it.

Sterling and Balotelli to start, Borini on the bench.

They are not English. They may not park the bus.

That's a bit racist....may be they will park the tourist coach, you know the one, it has broken air conditioning, a driver with a shirt that changes colour as he sweats and it breaks down in the middle of nowhere, but luckily said driver's cousin happens to be passing with a large quantity of overpriced cold drinks.

I'd be more excited if they didn't have the game in the middle of a bloody work day!

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Sakho, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Balotelli.

Substitutes: Jones, Enrique, Toure, Lucas, Suso, Borini, Lambert

Same 11 as Villa apart from Sterling in for Markovic.

Markovic not even on the bench, wonder if he's injured again?

Just one up front then. For the past 12 months we've done worse with only one up front as opposed to two.

Think its a bit risky starting with Lallana, he looked very slow and not match fit against Villa. At least Markovic had some speed about him and I think there could be a lot of chances to hit them quickly . Marlovic is not even on the bench

Bench looks quite weak again tonight, although nice to see Suso in there.

    Bit odd.

And after us all saying that at least we've ot a stronger squad, our bench still doesn't look that great. It's hardly going to put the fear of God into bigger teams.
