Anyway, 'plastic' as I may be, let me give you my knee-jerk reaction ratings.

Mingolet:6 Not at fault for any of the goals, but until we get a seventeen foot tall striker his distribution is dire. Our best player.

Johnson: 3 Thought the Everton game was an aberration, but no - this is the new norm. When Moses switched flanks and they were in tandem they reminded me of the good old days od Traore and Diomonde.

Flanagan:5 Nowhere near as good as last week.

Skrtel: 5 Our best defender and two unlucky deflections.

Toure: 3 What was he wittering about recently saying that City would regret letting him go? Decent in the air, dreadful on the ground. No wonder Ming wellies the ball to a non-existent giant forward - I wouldn't give it to Toure either. WHY play him when we have Sakho?

Lucas: 4 Sussed him out now. Looks okay when we have 60% possession and he can pick off the odd opposition attack. Useless when we're up against it, as in the final half hour when Huddlestone ran the shop. Totally overwhelmed.

Gerrard: 5 As bad as Lucas, except for his goal.

Henderson 5: Everywhere doing .... nothing. Did get the free kick for the goal with his persistence though.

Sterling: 3 strangely, I thought he was beginning to get into it just before he was taken off. Beat his man ONCE in the whole game, but those early dampening of expectations by comparing him to Wright-Phillips, at best, were hopelessly over-optimistic. Unless we're talking about the other Wright-Phillips.

Moses; 2 20 goals this season? Not unless we get The Bow and Arrow 3rd XI in the Cup and they've been on the lash the night before. Putrid. A false winger? A false footballer, Brendan.

Suarez: 5 Indifferent by his standards, his passes and touch just wasn't there. Still nearly produced a sublime free-kick from 30 yards.

Coutinho: 5 Too little too late too isolated.

Alberto: Can't give him a mark as I didn't see him kick the ball

Rodgers 4: Wrong defence, wrong midfield, wrong attack, wrong tactics. Picked the right goalkeeper, I suppose.

I said sixth at the beginning of the season. Without Studge in those games against Spurs, City and Chelsea we'll be marmalised. Seventh again - fighting for sixth with United and Spurs at best.

Simon Mignolet (20) attempted more passes than Sterling (14) today...
#LFC have 1 clean sheet in 10 PL games. The only constant CB in those is Skrtel. Discuss.

    #HCAFC 3 #LFC 1 FT
    Possession%: 38.5-61.5 |
    Passes: 355-576 |
    Accuracy%: 75-85 |
    Final 3rd: 134-146 |
    Accuracy%: 62-65 |
    Shots: 12(4)-9(4)

    #LFCs midfield in 1st half:

    No tackles attempted
1 aerial duel attempted and lost
    1 interception

Been watching you all season since the wife is from Liverpool and is a big fan...especially of Gerrard. In some of the previous games with Sturridge/Suarez as your strike partnership I thought you looked class. But today after half time especially you looked completely disinterested except for Suarez and Gerrard. Sterling is total crap...why some of us are hoping to get him here on loan baffles me...he should be nowhere near the England squad. The last 15 we dominated...could have had 2-3 more with better finishing. We were lucky with the deflections but deserved the win. Good luck the rest of the season.

Cannot begrudge you this victory. Made Liverpool look really bad. Did the fans actually say they were title contenders? <ok>

i just want to go on record today.

I wrote on the prematch thread any side wanting to get top 4 ought to EXPECT to win here. NO disprespect hull but LFC should be looking at these 3 points and going after them big time.

The game today showed a lot. before the season i didn't expect top 4. before this game i didn't expect it but i said i EXPECTED a performance and hoped for some luck.... LFC needs a kick up the backside if a couple of injuries knocks the heart out of us. moses and sterling... totally exposed. Not surprised mind.

I see we won the passing and possession game but forgot the game was about goals...

the whole point is a real team with real drive sees this game (and out group of 4 thread idea) and see that we've tottenham, chelsea and city to come this month making this one a simply put must win... we fialed ergo we've got to take a hard lonh look at what the F we are ay

No, the vast majority never did. More chance of winning the league than we have of seeing you on these boards after a United defeat. At least Tobes sticks his neck out whatever the weather.

You did indeed, and I can't see any Reds fans on here denying you that. If it wasn't for fathead Bruce I'd applaud you. Good luck with the rest of the season. How I'd have swapped Henderson and Lucas for Huddlestone today. Mind you, seeing Sterling and Moses had me longing for the days of Stuart Downing.

i've said before and i'll say it again. we have to want it more. If you are going to do battle away with a team like hull you simply have to show more desire and mettle than them. we obviously didn't want it enough and hadn't the heart after one injury.

heart is something you can't buy and something we should be matching the top sides for as its something everyone can have equally... a great leveller if you will... However for the second or third time this season (southampton for sure, newcastle probably and swansea was cocksure) we have turned in a display not meriting the players wages.

Thank you for the support you gave for our campaign songs. The applause after "we'll die when we want" is really appreciated.

What annoyed me was the commentator saying how wonderful Skrtel has been today.

Sorry but during open play he made a few clearences... but he made 2 errors which led to two goals. Play as well as you like but if a forward misses 2 open goals and it costs the game you've had a **** on by my standard.

Our defence of Enrique Toure Agger Johnson that kept 2 clean sheets in the first two games hasn't been see since. Instead Skrtel has come into the team and won plaudits for his individual performances, but if it effects the rest of the team because we can't get a settled partnership then it's no good.

We played 2 right footed CB's today so I want to see Agger/Sakho given 4 or 5 games in a row and no one can use the **** excuse of two left footed centre backs. Johnson seems to have worked out he's the only RB at the club and can play **** and still pick up his pay cheque and start every game.

Sterling/Moses - just echo what everyone else has said in that they were anonymous today. Suarez had an off day but when the service he was receiving (or wasn't in this case) from the midfield you cant blame him. The man can't do everything by himself.

Our midfield 3 looked like they've done all season. Further highlighting the fact we need at least 2 top quality CM's.

We have 0 creativity in the team when Coutinho isn't playing and Suarez isn't on form. Each midfielder has their own strengths (and they do have some strengths) but none of them are creative, mainly because 2 are English and we don't produce decent playmakers and the other is the least Brazilian midfielder you'll ever likely to see.

I really hope BR's comment on "effort ad commitment" were just words to the press and he doesn't believe them as not one of them showed any effort today apart from Suarez. I hope in privacy he gives them a proper bollocking, not because we played poorly, because I appreciate that happens but because none of them looked remotely bothered by it.

Plus point, we're still in the top 4 and in the mix. We now have 2 home games against "winnable teams" (I don't understand why all teams suddenly played 2 away then 2 at home or visa versa this week btw, what's wrong with going home/away/home/away etc?)

Right, the result is bad but our position isn't terrible.

We are with a third of the season gone, having played quite inconsistently and downright poor at times still in the mix.

The three teams above us currently, we expected there. You might have swapped Spurs for Arsenal at the start of the season but same difference.

Yes two of them by beating us in the next month could open a gap but let's face it, despite the resident wum putting words in our mouths we knew we weren't in the title race before a ball was kicked, aim for it of course but no one believed it for a moment. But they haven't beat us yet.....

It was always going to be a battle for that one spot. Well I keep hearing that Spurs and United will kick into gear .....When exactly? It's a third of the season through and they are as inconsistent as us and both behind us for the moment.

Sturridge is a blow but if we go on a run of defeats it reminds our owners our squad is thin. Let's see who we bring in in January.

Even if we lose to those as predicted we are only going to be a game or two behind and get to play them all again. At least the next game comes quickly and hopefully we get a proper reaction from a group of players who should be feeling pretty embarrassed tonight.

If not then, they need sold.
