To be fair, with Steve Bruce's massive head he does arguably have a bigger capacity to store such information.
TBF he was completely marked out of the game, but yea I agree that the time he had on the ball was wasted. He looked disinterested,.
We had a bad game, simple. Rodgers got it wrong. But one bad performance doesn't avoid the fact we're having a good season. I would have settled for these points at the beginning of the season. Our next 2 games (if we win) everyone will be praising the team again. One loss and the plastics are out in force.
I said this earlier but it was inevitable Suarez was going to have a **** game today. The beauty of having two wingers who like to cut inside against two lines of four. It was always going to result in Suarez being isolated, Far, far too narrow for my liking.. We didn't fill the space enough, if you look at teams like Arsenal play they always have an outball, a player open - that wasn't the case for us today unfortunately. But let's be honest, Moses, Suarez and Sterling is a completely different kettle of fish compared to Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinho. **** happens, can't wait for Wednesday.
I wish Rodgers would keep a settled back 4 rotating your central defenders never works. We're conceding goals all over the place lately after a solid defensive start to the season.
Arsenal, City, Chelsea and any one of Utd, Spurs, Everton and arguably Newcastle who all have better squads than we do. Add to that, their respective managers apparently like some continuity in their team selection and formation, unlike ours! I never thought we'd get top 4 this season.....we've looked vulnerable in many games that we've won and are now being found out. No midfield, shaky defence (albeit we do have some decent players).....if Suarez goes this winter, god help us!
We have two home games against teams we should beat so we will look ok for a time. But if Rodgers keeps making changes when he does not have to due to injury then we will never get a settled team. If we play like we did today again between now and the end of January we will be mid table and well off the pace.
Appalling is all I can say. None of the players can come away from that with any praise, even Gerrard despite the goal was fairly poor today and Mings didn't really command his defence. The full backs did no pushing forward, Flanagan went back to looking out of his depth. Toure looked lumbering. Skrtel great at blocking crosses, rubbish at heading. Why did he throw himself in front of the two shots that ended up as goals? The 1st was an easy save for Mings and the 2nd was going well wide. Both need to be dropped. Midfield disappeared, all three of them. Suarez had a poor day, was too deep alot of the time. Maybe cause the midfield were anonymous. But the prize for the worst on the pitch today goes to the wingers. Moses and Sterling were absolute tosh. Big headed Moses did **** all all game and when he did he cost us the first goal. We are now seeing why the Chavs haven't batted an eyelid over him going out on loan (unlike Lukaku). Sterling needs to buck up his ideas, still getting bullied by defenders, no strength on or off the ball and needs to learn to read the game better. Too often the game just passes him by. Rubbish game for us, Hull had us worked out very quickly, a few of those players today need to take a look at themselves and change their game fast or its the bench.
We don't leak goals. We let in 4 against Southampton but other than that we have let in an average of one goal a game. I would have thought you would have gone down the wing more rather than pass through to Suarez who was on his own. We have been struggling for strikers for years now and we were lucky with two of our goals although our build up play was OK. We have also been struggling for goalkeepers but then in the summer Steve Bruce got two good keepers. I was brought up in the days when Liverpool would play pass and move and it didn't really matter who played for them but now you have a few super stars and some very ordinary players without much of a style of play. Lose 1-0 to Palace and next weekend beat Liverpool 3-1. Weird, eh?
That turnaround for Chelsea must have pleased you, after all, you don't want Soton getting away from you in the battle for a top eight finish, do you?
Forget about your team today.Biggest exodus of fans I have witnessed in 48 years.YNWA!Not being able to support til the end is a sign of the Disney generation.
