I'd agree with that definitely. With regards Aqua he was finding decent positions, and if his final ball had been a bit better could have been looking at a couple of assists. Also with Coady and Adam behind him against this random Chinese team it's not as if we need him to close down every single opponent. Put his efforts into finding attacking positions.

Joe Cole looks a good deal fitter than he did last season, not as soft around the edges. As a few of us said a fit Joe Cole is a new signing, let's hope he can string some more good moves together and start the season with confidence (think the sending off against Arsenal and then his injury completely sucked the confidence from him last year and he never got it back)

Carroll got better as the game went on i think. If he's match fit then he is going to cause teams so many problems this year.

Adam started to find his range. Think he's a little over-awed by things at the moment.

Especially agree on the youngsters. How refreshing it is that we have a mass of quality young players to play. Even if they don't turn out to be world beaters then at least we will no longer have to invest in the likes of Poulsen and it should save/make us some money.

Late Guangdong goals were beautiful. Entertaining match. Aquilani, Ngog, Robinson, Coady, Andy, others looked very good. Off to Malaysia.

Nice to see 'Andy' is on first name terms with JW Henry, the loveable rogue! Other demands are said to include the new stadium being modeled after Carroll's wang and being called the Gypsy King Stadium, and free reign on Linda.

Haha imagine those shadows cast across the pitch. Can imagine Nani falling over on one for sure.

JWH will wear both providing Andy is still wearing more rings, as nobody is allowed to wear more gold jewelry than Andy.

There will also be half time Donkey rides and Jay Spearing will supervise the dodgems which will replace the current changing rooms.

Brilliant thread Chris. Our most popular to date in terms of users.

One thing you could do to improve it is to write down what times each goal was scored.

    Nice work.

If you have any queries regardin it, he's your man.

Good work, match threads are essential for attracting new members! <applause>

Have a word with him mate. He/we are going to be very busy when the new season starts - I don't think he will have time to do both roles, or at least be able to cover every game.

Maybe take turns or something? PM him.

Nice thread Chris, I was watching the game on espn and although it is only a Chinese second division team and it's pre season, I was well impressed with the passing and moving. Hopefully we can keep up playing like that it's so much better to watch.

I watched the game on an internet site and some berk of a commentator kept calling Kelly Flanagan and Flanagan Robinson. He also kept saying something which sounded like Cheesefetish which if it isn't a name, really ought to be imo.
