We're only not good enough because we have Woy as manager! He has so many Liverpool and Soton players who played so free-flowing and well last season. He has Rooney, who should be better (is better domestically).

The resources available to Woy isn't that much below Fabio and Sven... yet, we always had expectations (if unrealistic) then. If he get's off on "we had low expectations anyway" after he helped make us have low expectations that won't float with me.

Barkley is brilliant too... where is he?

    My half time comments

    England the better team.

    Godun should be off
    Sturridge is sloppy
    Henderson disappointing
    Sterling not getting any ball
Welbeck making a lot of errors
    Johnsons passing us not good
Rooney is good but could put more in pressing
    Gerrard playing well
    Jagielka average
Baines good and crying out for more all

All in all daylight robbery so far

    Ref is doing ok

Yes. If only he could just keep his crosses a touch lower. We're not a team of giants you know.

I'm not WUMing Rooney, Milk. I'm not the sort of fan (*cough* United*cough* <laugh>) who bigs up his team's players and slates rival players. I honestly thought Welbeck was one of our best players in the last match and Rooney was superb in the groups stages (qualifying). However, Rooney has shown in ALL the World Cup 'finals' he's been in that he just can't buy a goal, which then means he's there to put a shift in both defensively and hopefully to provide an assist (as he did in the last game).

I'm not sure he has the engine nor the discipline to do both those tasks (defend and attack) and we can't afford passengers in games like these.

Don't feel Hendo adds much now. Put Barkley on

Not too much in the way of good performances from England tonight, just some 'not as bad as the others' ones.

Sterling's lost the ball a few times, but at least he's being positive and trying to make something happen.

just watched the replay of the goal, their was only 1 Uruguay player in the box and Baines stops tracking back to leave Suarez alone

He usually impresses me for England; rarely for United, though.

Suarez was Jagielka's, he let him drift off him, nothing to do with Baines.

Gerrard being caught lead legged and square in CM was the root cause of that break / goal though

I agree and never thought/wanted Woy for England (or for Liverpool). He's a poor manager that achieves with small clubs with low expectations.
He's been very clever on the expectations, talks like he wants to win but gives the impression noone should expect a win. So he'll say things like 'losing isn't acceptable but at least the performance was good'. Means he comes out looking good when he does achieve something, tried the same thing with us but no one bought his bullshit. People weren't talking about Woy after the Italy game they were all talking about Rooney, its a diversion.

So because the expectations are so low, mainly cause the have been deliberately lowered, Woy will escape relativity unscathed this time around.

    Biased hat off

Everyone's been poor. Especially Gerrard, Sterling, Rooney, Welbeck

Those 4 keep losing the ball.

Ref bottled sending him off. 1 more tackle and he'll be off though.

Gerrard Hendo partnership doesn't work for England. Said before the tournament, you could stick Coutinho n Suarez in this England team and still wouldn't play the same way because the manager is using different tactics. He obv wants them 2 to sit as Hendo isn't bombing forward and using his main attribute which is his athleticism to get up n down the pitch.

Suarez almost does Hart at the near post from the corner again <doh>

are the England players that thick and didn't learn from the first one?
