The pundits (foreign and domestic) universally lay blame for the goals on the centrebacks. 'Naive defending' There is your unbiased answer
Danny Mills is as thick as pig **** so his opinion on anything is irrelevant. Of all the people you could have used, you chose the very worst.
Baines has been awful. Last 20 minutes yesterday he was better but his lack of experience has shown. Italy game, for example, Cole would have been yelling at Rooney. Granted he's not the only one but awful just the same. A quick look around at player ratings from last night has Gerrard, Baines, Jagielka and Welbeck all lowest.
Except for Steven Gerrard who blames.....Steven Gerrard. At least Gerrard has the stones to stand up and say, I ****ed up. Unlike a few pathetic media gimps who couldnt possibly blame captain fantastic for anything..... everyone knows gerrard was at fault, everyone.
True, but losing a tackle near the half way line with the whole back four still behind him didn't cause the first goal. Johnson and Jagielka were shocking in what followed, tremendous finish as it was (eat your hearts out Rooney, Studge, wellbeck and Sterling - you're not on the same planet). As for all this cack about Rooney being our best player - as with the last half hour against Italy, we shaped the whole ****ing team around him. Sturridge was playing left and right midfield to get the ball half the time (where he was when he set up our goal) and Welbeck and Sterling (our two best players against Italy) weren't in it at all. The whole attack is built around Rooney, who's not up to it, and the whole midfield is built around Gerrard, who's not up to up. The defence appears to built around no-one, though Cahill comes out of the two goals with a scintilla of credit, whilst the rest are garbage. Question: Barry aside (and would you honestly have put him on the plane?) do we have a DM in this country? Henderson sure as **** isn't one, and I don't remember anyone claiming he was. We played okay-ish against Italy, I thought, but you were right () and I was way too optimistic - we only have a puncher's chance if we go out all attack, and my point is that building everything around Rooney puts all our hopes on one type of punch at one moment, and the defence analogy is that with Gerrard swanning about that we have no guard up.
which is why england will always fail. central defenders at fault for goal 2. its patently obvious they are just as at fualt if you actually took 5 seocnds to look at a video or two of the goal... which is why i'm sorry to say but on football matter i think you'd be hard pressed to find anyoone taking you serious on this site. thsi link is even better if you dare look. look at the play from above, poor vid but still look at the starting position of jagielka and cahill. 0 seconds. both are in the correct positions..... look at cavani run off jagielka. look at gerrard actually being in position and the other 4 midfielders being well up the pitch. watch jagielka let cavani off but follow him leaving a gaping hole behind him... (2 seconds in) on 3 socends you can see the ball come off gerrard... cahill has simply let suarez run off him assuming he's offside (perhaps) Jagielka is still in line with the ball.. its past him and chail has no chance of recovering. If neither cntre half has any blame to share in i will suggest that sorry but nobody can take you seriously.

Explain to me, in your own time, how losing a tackle near the halfway line equates to being at fault for a goal when the whole back four is still behind you? I remember this debate when Beckham gimped out of tackle on the halfway line against Ronaldhino in '02, from which Brazil later scored. The whole defence still had to be beaten after that, but let's gloss over that, eh? Gerrard was ****ing cack last night. He was primarily (though not solely) to blame for their second. He wasn't even primarily to blame for the first though.
Its called surrendering possession and to do so is poor and amateurish. Lose the ball in thw middle and bad things happen.
probably fairest of all comments. in the end fast forward a year and if everyones desires come true on both sides england will have very few options and whiel they might run they have no skills.
Is that it? None of the back four or goalkeeper can do a ****ing thing if the ball is lost 40 yards out in front of them and they have to face two players coming at them?
Debate going in circles. The majority of the team were poor lots of mistakes were made by lots of different players.
agian look at the two videos i've posted. i think everyone understands suarez gambled on nobody touching it and everyone understands the fact that if cavani no gerrard touched it it was offside. what part of basic central defender 101 don't YOU understand.
A fair summation that imo. Gerrard in a 2 man central midfield is a disaster waiting to happen these days. At Liverpool you're now playing with a diamond which gives him 2 'runners' as his legs are shot. Henderson simply couldn't cover him on his own. Who would I have taken? I'd have not taken Lampard, as he's also shot and offered no real competition. I really rated Huddlestone last season, not an out an out DM by any stretch, but can sit in that deep area and control the play.
No arguments for the second goal - the worst thing Gerrard could have done was going for that ball and not winning it.
If no-one touched it he was also offside...........i.e. the back line had done their job. Only a **** up from one of our own could have put him in, in that scenario - fact, and Gerrard provided it.
