So I have a stupidly busy morning at work - no time to look on here (I logged on at 7:30am before i started and there were stirrings). I have 5 missed calls on my personal phone and finally get on here to see this! Just get it right this time Saints. I quite liked Mark (good name) and still felt with the rub of the green we could have been comfortably mid table, but no more than that (tbf who wouldn't take that!). Let's have a plan this time and no more Pellegrino type appointments. So Fat Sam it is
Both had the luxury of moving on anyone who didn't buy into their vision, and replacing them with quality. Actually, that last bit applies more to Klopp than Poch. Neither Puel nor Pellegrino had that option though.
If it comes off someone should draft our first match thread in German. Nothing better than a comedy Google translation!!
If he's coming with Mitchell, surely, SURELY the board must have assured them there was a couple of quid to spend in January?
Look no further than Alex Ferguson for getting more than the best out of some very average players - Wes Brown, John O´Shea, Nicky Butt, David Beckham who when moved on, all looked distinctly ordinary.
Interesting that Hughes kept talking about having more to work with in the market once Les left... but Ralph K kept talking it down and suggesting we wouldn't do business. Meanwhile, the papers (inc Wilson) kept hinting that resources existed. So, they did exist - just not for Hughes.
I’ll contain my excitement until we make the appointment. Positive at least that they have made the move early this time. Learnt from their glaring mistakes last season! There is enough time to turn this season around. We’re not a million miles away from being an average team. Sort the defence, or at least improve it and you’re half way there.
or not, depending on how you want to take it https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/26/did-jfk-say-he-was-a-doughnut_n_3500307.html
