just got up as I'm on night. I watched the first half then went back to bed, so it's not fair I do any ratings until I watch the recording of the second, but my impressions were same old, same old. It's trite to say the difference between the teams was world class forwards and a supreme goalie, though it can't be denied that our deficiencies are there for all to see. Sterling is a wonderful player - till he gets into the box. Our defence is totally woeful; but I got the impression in the first half that we could walk through theirs whenever we wanted. Joe Allen is cock, and playing Lallana and Coutinho together always leaves us overrun in the dm area. Gerrard was cack. Any distant hopes of fourth are now gone. We'll end the holiday period 15 points behind fourth, and probably out of the LC too if Bournemoth have done their homework. Last season we got away with it as we had Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling on fire. As united are proving, that covers up any weaknesses, but we've lost our attack and have and even worse defence than last season. Doom. leave the boss till the end of the season - no benefit sacking him now.
FFS Sterling, I said this 2 days ago, can't shoot for s**t. Proved it today People talk about De Gea, good save from Badon's effort, not worldly, but good, he did the bread and butter stuff well today and it worked out for him but Sterling kicked the ball at him twice where either side was a goal and then when he should have rounded him and tapped it in he goes wide and allows De Gea to recover when really De Gea should have been left on his arse by Sterling's first touch. pathetic, and really Badon should have scored. We had 4 excellent chances and wasted every f**ing one.
Officially the worse start to a season in 50 years! I think we can forget about CL for next season. In fact I am trying to work out where our next win will come from. We are very vulnerable away from home so we are going to have to win our home games: no excuses. Why with such a weak defence as United Rodgers played NO striker I cannot understand. He has lost the plot - confirmed!
we never looked like beating Sunderland, let alone Arsenal when they come. We'll be fortunate to get a draw next sunday against the Gunners

Unlucky fellas, we weren't great, I still don't agree with this 3 at the back bollox but there you go. It was always going to be about who had the best attack (as our defences are a liability at times) and in the end that's really what it came down to. You probably should have got a goal or two but I'm just grateful we took our chances.
Also here's the thing, the way the game went today couldn't really have been better for United fans. Had United completed dominated and spanked you 3-0, right now Rodgers would be a broken man and under serious pressure. The fact you created several chances and De Gea is spoken of as MOTM actually masks Rodger's ineptness and the problems Liverpool currently have, and will be seen across the pond by FSG as they read the newspaper plaudits for our goalie, as Rodgers being unlucky rather than incompetent.
It clearly works just now Treble. It aint pretty but it is getting results at a time when we are missing some serious talent. Plus carrick just adds a degree of calmness the asylum that is our back line.
