If we're up for any game in a season, it's this one.
The team's confidence is rock-bottom, though, and if we play tentatively again I'm afraid we'll get nowhere.
We need to go for it, and not let them put us under pressure from the beginning.

I agree, attack is certainly the way to goo they've shown themselves to be vulnerable against teams that go at them.

Sadly completely expecting this season's standard frustrating 90 mins from us. Nothing that has happened recently suggests otherwise. We are a team at a standstill, waiting for a moment of inspiration that won't come because the players aren't good enough / in the right frame of mind to deliver it.

Gerrard's free kick in the CL match might have been it but it was too little too late. And in a different competition.

Rumours that Mig might be dropped today.... Brad Jones in goal doesn't fill me with anymore confidence unfortunately <doh>

Just looked at that team sheet. First question was Is that really the team he's going to play??

But we could be asking that about any formation / combination he chooses.

    Johnson. Again.

    Lovren. Again.

Both Lucas and Allen in the middle. Again.

No start for Lallana or Coutinho. Again.

    Keep on truckin Brendan.

We need to drop him, like City did with Hart for a bit. Problem is, as you identify, nobody to drop him for.

I'd rather see Markovic in goal than Jones. At least he's shown he's good with his hands.

Exactly this. One small spark can re-ignite self belief and get them playing again- unfortunately it just isn't happening.

Could it be today's game??<whistle>:bandit:<laugh><devil>

Ok ok, if not I'll get onto Optimus Prime about that all spark. Could be a good signing for us.

It's like he actually wants to get sacked. Because playing the same **** week in week out and expecting a different outcome is ****ing insane.

3-0 Utd I reckon. Maybe even more. That midfield is embarrassing.

It seems sensible to put all our creative attacking players on the pitch with Utd being so vulnerable to quick attacks and good movement, put Lucas and Can in there as a bit of muscle and let the others play. I'd start Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling and Marko if I had the choice.

Jones is in for Mignolet <doh>

    Oh dear....

Liverpool's XI: Jones, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson, Moreno, Henderson, Allen, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Toure, Lambert, Lucas, Can, Balotelli, Markovic.

Better than I expected. Still, Can should be in place of Allen, Manq in place of Johnson, and f**ing hell why are Skrtel and Lovren together again>!

ADIT: IBWT beat my by seconds <ok>

I did predict Jones would start, go me. Also a 3-0 loss, so oh well.

An omen. Just played tge reverse fixture on fifa 15 and nicked it 2-1 despite no mata, herrera, blind or di maria. Had valencia and fellaini midfield two with jones at tye base of the diamond.

Liverpool dominated and took the lead. Falcoa wa really poor so brought wilson on and he headed home the equaliser.

With 3 minutes to go valencia bursts through down the right and stands up a high ball for van persie to flick his head at it while moving away from goal.

    An omen.

Its a bit of a wonky tea but it should be enough. It all depends on how the midfield and attack shape up.

    Bold choice in goal!
