I don’t have a clue who we should go for but the fact that we beat WBA 3 times and drew with them once, last season isn’t a good sign for me.

    We smashed Rohl 4-0, so...

I don't think it really matters all that much. Both Corberan and Rohl are operating with worse squads and very, very limited resources (basically no resources in Corberan's case for much of his time at WBA)

They obviously think he's mustard and will suit the roll.

I'm sure he will relish the opportunity, grill the players and get them sizzling..... I'm bored

Don’t like a OGS link I saw earlier. Saying he’s interviewing today

Yeah he definitely has over performed his entire managerial career relative to the resources and teams at his disposal, so he knows how to get results.

You could say the same thing about Nathan Jones’ time at Luton though prior to joining us.

I think Corberan would get more results this season if it were him and put us in good hands to come straight back. Rohl I don’t think would get as good results this season but would also put us in good hands to come back up. Corberan is the safer choice though for me.

I still think the unemployed manager on deal to end of the season route is the way we will go and then re-assess in the summer

I notice that Simon Rusk was set piece coach at Forest before joining Saints. I wonder if he was any good at it ?

Whilst I don't necessarily disagree (though I would prefer Röhl so he can already be planning and working towards next season) a note of caution, that approach is how we ended up with Mark Hughes.
Hughes was great as the firefighter we needed to stay up. He was not what we needed to then do well the following season and beyond, yet his success pretty much guaranteed him the job.

Works for me, always thought of him as a tactically astute manager whose teams are tough to play against. He’s never really had much (if anything) by way of resources to work with, so that would be a new factor for him

Yeah and I remember saying we shouldn’t appoint him despite what he achieved to keep us up. I think the majority did think he deserved a longer deal, it’s hard to look at things objectively in football, like we should’ve sacked Martin after promotion but that wouldn’t have been a popular opinion in May.

I think a six month deal to someone, see if there is any green shoots in what they do, if not don’t renew if there is something we like then give them a longer deal. I do get your point about Hughes though. If someone like Corberan or Rohl want to come now then give it to them, the fans will have to be patient this season though

Would be very happy with this, mainly because it would really piss off the Leeds fans I know

Yeah he's my second choice behind Rohl so I wouldn't be unhappy at all.
