Martin Brundle's BBC column. "Of course bona fide passing manoeuvres can still end up with contact along with the inevitable 'I was ahead' versus 'he turned in on me'. Everybody has an opinion but only the stewards have the obligation and power to act."
Cheers Genji. Here's one from David Coulthard with the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/8546403/David-Coulthard-Lewis-Hamilton-was-wrong-but-he-has-apologised-and-we-need-him-on-the-Formula-One-circuit.html
williams technical director Sam Michael has called the collision between lewis and maldonado a racing incident.i think he's correct. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2011/05/31/williams-points-2011-bittersweet/#comment-702231
Racing incident or causing an avoidable collisions, that's debatable. The Stewards decided to give a penalty, but it had no effect anyway Nothing more to say about it tbh
Sweet baby Jesus.I posted a thread on the Monaco GP,got one comment and it was closed? What's going on?
Nothing wrong with your thread, its just there was already about 300 comments on the situation and things had got out of hand so its probably best to let things cool for a few days.
Sorry irish - there were many, many, many threads, discussions and comments about Hamilton's behaviour, driving and moaning from Thursday onwards, culminating in a frenzy on Sunday and bleeding over into Monday. The stewards made their decisions and it's done and dusted now.
Holy cow! He can juggle while riding a unicycle! I can see why Mercedes think he's worth $115m. Grr. Am I being unreasonable to think that if there's a bump on the circuit then the drivers should drive more slowly, brake earlier and manage the situation? Vettel and Button are apparently (though who knows whether it's just a string of offhand answers to questions put together to make a story?) calling for safety to be improved at street circuits, particularly Monaco. If they have to get round a hairpin they wouldn't get to the turn-in in seventh gear at 200mph, would they? Surely they should be driving within the limits of the track and the car, shouldn't they?
I think it's more to do with the bumps, especially the one at the tunnel exit that caught a few out, that said maybe they should take a look at the original nurburgring, that didn't just have bumps, it had jumps.
