I know, what a feeling, sends shivers down my spine, we will all be typing stuff here about Quali and how Schumacher got his pole position... No seriously though, its getting closer and closer and its nearly time..
Manny just out of interest - how did you come about supporting Schumacher? Only because you were what, 11, when he retired which means you were very very young to become such an avid fan.
Good point, but when I started watching F1 at 4 years old, I was a Schumi fan, although I did like to see Coulthard, Barrichello and Irvine win. I like Hakkinen back then as well, but I was primarily a Schumi fan. Sort of went of him in 2006, I knew his time was coming to an end, so supported Button a bit more. After he left, Hamilton joined, with Alonso as his teammate, and Raikonnen at Ferrari, making it a cracking season, and I supported the most exciting out there
I've always been a Schumi fan myself, just somebody I followed when he emerged in the early 90's. I think he had a lot more impact on the F1 than the guy he replaced to make his debut ever would (Bertrand Gachot, wonder where he is now?) Was tough when everybody hated him, I remember my dad was cheering when he had his big accident at Club but that's how it goes in the UK, always somebody has to be a hate figure.
4yrs wow! Cheers Manny and Hull. Ive watched Schumacher and others since 93 but the first driver I supported actively was Hill.
haha i know, I will watch F1 literally til I die, or until it stops, which will either be Bernie's or Greenpeace's fault. Apparently i did watch some races the year before (1998), but I can't remember that far back!
I just feel as if he is the one I find most in common with, many of you support Lewis and Alonso, I like Schumacher and his driving style is epic. First encounter was with f1 97 the ps1 game. I didn't watch f1 as much as when he came back to F1, racing cars fascinate me, as much as they do you. It just seems wierd that someone as young as me supports someone as old as MSC, but then again... **** happens.
This time next week we'll all be arguing over whether it was a lucky win, whose fault the collision/strategy was, how it's going to be another dominant Red Bull season...
This time next week I'll be laughing at how McLaren must have been sandbagging all through the testing ...... or not
I have no broadband at my house at the moment =/ but luckily as I will be gigging near my parents house I will be staying over and will watch the race and chat on here! result!
I agree with BrightLampShade - My driver is the best, even though is not the same as his lol And this is the way the season will go, all arguing in favour of our team and/or driver. I'll just be happy if we don't get too carry away And as for waking up for practice, not me, but I will listen to it on the iplayer Friday am at work really enjoy Davidson's insights Anyway, count on me for the season - bring it on!
I have to agree about Davidson, its really interesting to hear what he has to say. He seems to satisfy the inner-geek!
Wacky Racer, Welcome to the forum! Good to see more people joining. I agree with you and DHCanary about Anthony Davidson, I think him and Croft make a fantastic team. Even when we get Red flags, they always have something interesting to talk about, unlike Legard.
Ant Davidson is cool but I'm afraid to say I'm not keen on err Crofty, who I err think is at times a bit err false, and is the only err person I know who is err able to inject 'err' into the telephone err number "811(err)811". - That said, he's light years ahead of lame-Leg(ard)!
