Another insipid performance where we dominate the ball, but don't create enough and then lose the game through utter stupidity. Arteta saying after the game it's unacceptable to be where we are in the league. This is Groundhog Day...

Everything absolutely rests on the Europa League now. But if he doesn't win that, I see no reason to keep him on.

How could the board possibly justify keeping a manager who has us in mid table, with no European football and playing the worst football since the latter days of Emery's tenure?

My own view is, regardless of whether he wins the EL or not, we should be looking for a new manager. This is what an ambitious club would do.

Yeah can’t argue with that. We are well below the standard we should be at.

Agreed
Any other club and he would be gone by now.
Annoyingly fans are clamouring for him to be backed in the transfer window.. My analogy is this: Do you have to wait until someone has several millions to understand how good they are with money? I give you £1000, you blow it all on cheap whores, what would you spend a million bucks on?

To be fair. The money Arteta has had so far has been spent well. Tierney and Partey

Tierney was signed under Emery in the 2019 Summer window.
He's a great player, but his injuries are very concerning.

Partey has been very underwhelming so far if we're being honest. He's still a cut above our current options, but he hasn't had the transformative impact we all hoped. He may get better next season, but we've not seen the best of him in an Arsenal shirt yet. Whether that's down to first-season syndrome or Arteta's confusing tactics, I'm not sure. I hope it's the former.

Let's also not forget Arteta signed Willian on a 3-year deal from Chelsea when most people did not think it would be an appropriate signing and, quelle surprise, it hasn't worked out.

Gabriel was an Arteta signing and he had a great start to his Arsenal career, but has been on a downward slope the last couple months.

Arteta also didn't pick Saliba for 4 months, favouring Mustafi ahead of him in the pecking order (a man who had no future at Arsenal), only to then loan out Saliba back to France and subsequently cancel Mustafi's contract in January. Awful mismanagement of a young player.

Ultimately, you need to ask questions about why the standard of performance has been so underpar for the entire season, bar one or two purple patches.

I still think the calibre of our squad isn't top 4, maybe even top 5 worthy, but there's no way in hell we should be sat 10th in the league.

It’s not necessarily Artetas man management or signings that I disagree with.

It’s mainly the fact we play **** football. We’re pretty poor going forward. And I wouldn’t even say he has “fixed the defense”. It’s just not working. Yesterday’s game could still be going on and we STILL wouldn’t have scored. (VAR would have chalked off another 3 mind you...)

This has to be the worst Arsenal side of the last 40 years.

I just wish they would all leave, seriously. I would keep maybe 4 or 5 players out of this lot. The rest can disappear along with this pathetic excuse of a manager.

And while they're at it, the owners and the board can do one as well.

Burn the whole thing down and start again. We're going nowhere.
No way - we've had much weaker sidews do better.

They are underperforming big time - and we see that by the way we perform in one off games.

Looks like we could go with 3 at the back with 5 in midfield ?? Or a back 4 with Xhaka. Lets hope we can keep it tight and get a goal or 2

Who does this guy think he is? Pep? You have Martinelli and Auba and you start without a recognised striker! What a tool! He thinks he is cleverer than he really is!

I don't understand how so many other teams find pressing high so easy, yet we're crap at it and teams bypass our **** press so easily. It can't be that hard because SO many teams do it better than us.

Xhaka at fullback when Saka can play well there.

Smith Rowe as a No.9 when we have Auba and Martinelli available.

Arteta is taking the piss

I dont know why he tries to over think things.. Just vanity at the expense of pragmatism!
