Here’s a good question: if everyone woke up tomorrow to the news Arteta has been sacked...

would anyone be surprised? Really? Would anyone be shocked? I’m pretty sure everyone would understand.

Do managers ever walk these days? No dignity anymore, when would he realise, this job is too much for him and walk?

Funny thing is the media would berate us and say we didnt give him a chance.

Meanwhile Chelsea are on their like 400th EPL manager.

Edu was talking about stability, but there's no point in stability if that involves sticking with a manager who looks out of his depth. What's the purpose in stability for the sake of it?

This was always a risk appointing someone who had never managed before.

They're just delaying the inevitable the longer he stays.

Accept you made a mistake so we can move on.

Well he's a young manager still learning - he will get better.

Managers should learn their trade at small clubs before getting the big jobs though. Its an issue when you have big name players getting these roles particularly.

Look at Nagelsmann for example - he's still young but had 4 Seasons in the lower leagues before getting the Leipzig job. Thats the way its should be.

The thing is he is learning on the job - in another 12 months he may be a vastly improved manager.
Many of the best managers have poor spells at the beginning of their careers.

But on the other hand he may never amount to much as manager - hard to say.

Poor spell? <laugh>

There's a 'poor spell' and then there's THIS.

How many times do I need to repeat these statistics?

He has the lowest points per game ratio of any Arsenal manager in the PL.
20th in the league for chances created, 20th in the league for goals scored since the international break, 20th in the league for conversion rate, 18th in the league for cross completion...need I go on?

We can't attack, can't defend, no patterns of play, no shape, we're 5 points above the relegation zone.

He picks the same underperforming players every week, doesn't address the issues we have in attack and has done nothing to restore the discipline or shape we at least used to have.

We are 16th in the league and it's almost January. Newcastle have the chance to go 6 points clear of us.

He CANNOT stay.

Arteta to go ASAP but seriously which manager with decent pedigree, experience and balls to shake the team and board up???

tbf I'm just baffled and feel like the last 2 months have been an April fools Groundhog Day!

I honestly believe Rafa Benitez would fix this team up.

Now if Arteta is openly willing to make this statement HE MUST GO! No bloody excuses after months of ****e to turn around and say "the other team wants it more" wtf!!

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports: "Without conceding much we lost the game on two key moments.

"We reacted really well. We dominated the game. We created enough chances at least to not lose. We hit the bar. We don’t have the luck.

"We are in a big fight. We lost against Burnley without them having a shot on target, and now we lose because of a couple of chances.

"It’s really difficult when you play a team who are defending low and wasting time. We make it difficult for ourselves conceding the first goal.

"I think we had 15 shots but only two on target. We need to improve our rate, that’s the reality.

"We need to generate more to win football matches. When it comes to small details, the other team wants it more.

"The boys are absolutely still fighting. They’re hurt right now."

Realistically I think he will be sacked after Brighton away.

I think we’ll lose to Chelsea next week.

And if we don’t beat Brighton, he’ll be gone.

Why wait until then? Why dont they pull the trigger now.. Dortmund sacked their coach after a couple of bad results...

our board is incompetent. I’m not saying that’s what should happen, he should probably be sacked today. But that’s what’s most realistically going to happen.
