You like the fans that big you up. Got it. Couldn't give a **** about Newcastle sorry. When betterTbf the conditions werent good for either side and to see arsenal running the clock down was refreshing ... i hate fans like you btw just arseholes that think its all about them ... a few lads on aftc are sound and i wish arsenal well for the season ... they had selection problems and ground out a win.. i feel like we should have got a point , but one big error cost us on the day.

0-1. FT.
Not a great performance at all, but given the troubles we've had with injuries, players lacking match fitness and huge question marks over the safety of Ozil/Kolasinac, I will take a win away from home + a clean sheet. The performances will get better once our key men are up to speed, I am sure. It may take a few weeks, though.
A few points:
We need to be a bit patient with the youngsters. Willock and Nelson both showed promise, but you can see they will need time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League, as well as playing regular first-team action.
What I liked about Willock was how he was always finding space and wasn't afraid to make challenges. He tried to drive through the heart of midfield, similar to Yaya Toure's style in some ways, and looked to link play with the attack well.
Nelson tried to stretch the defence and offered width, something that we lacked last season, but he seemed to play a little within himself as soon as he got into a promising position. Nevertheless, I saw some impressive things from him. And I'm sure when he gradually grows into his role, he will be a real menace for opposition defences.
Guendouzi was combative in midfield as he usually was, but I still feel he needs to release the ball quicker. He takes too many touches which slows us down.
Chambers, Sokratis and Maitland-Niles were immense, which is a good sign, although the opposition didn't really test us much, so I don't want to go overboard.
Special mention to Aubameyang, who led the line brilliantly, given the lack of service into him.
Roll on the next game![]()
Did extremely well today given the circumstances. Happy with the start.

Yep
3 points away from home on the opening day of the season, with an under strength team and a clean sheet to boot.
Take that any day of the week
The one player I do want to moan about is Mkhitaryan.
The guy is totally finished at this level. As far as I'm concerned, he should not be a regular starter for us.
He is a shadow of the player we all saw at Dortmund.
He kept losing the ball, misplacing simple passes, lacked technique in his shooting and got tackled too easily.
With the sale of Iwobi, he either needs to raise his game or be benched for one of the younger players.
For the most part, he has been thoroughly underwhelming in an Arsenal shirt. And the only reason he doesn't get more criticism in the media is purely because of how bad Sanchez has done at United, on treble the wages, in that swap deal.
Yeah thats just it - he shows real class in small flashes.I think the guy is finished at Arsenal personally. It's a shame because he's clearly talented and even yesterday we saw flashes of what he can do, that chipped cross ball into the path of Aubameyang in the first half was perfect. However, the rest of his play really lets him and the team down. His passing at times can be really wayward, he gives the ball away far too often and his shooting is woeful.
I'd rather see players like Pepe and Nelson start ahead of him.
