Well looks like we wont be losing tonight, Corona strikes the PL at last. We are self isolating because of the Greek owner's positive test, time for them to reflect and play Xbox no doubt! I see serious implications moving forward in regards the conclusion of this seasons PL!
Highlights from our 3-2 loss at home to Brentford. Granted, it was a friendly and I think some of the players didn't take it seriously, but man, this does not inspire any confidence heading into the City game. The defending is so far beyond comical, I don't even know what to say anymore. Has there been a team that has persistently had these defensive issues for as long as us?
As far as I can tell all 3 of their goals came against a back 4 of Socratis, Holding, Luiz and Kolasinac, and for 2 of them our attackers virtually provided the assists. Not too much cause for alarm.
Great to have football back! .... but.... I dont really know what Arteta is thinking TBH. Cant see why Martinelli and Lacazette get benched. Auba out wide to accommodate Nketiah? No Ceballos? No Pepe? Ozil doesnt even make the bench? Oh well.. please prove me wrong. C'mon Arsenal.
God knows what to expect tonight! Oh well at least we get football! I guess the recent busy schedule of games has once again hurt Arsenal on the injury front...sigh hmmmmmmmmmmmm
List of potential live streams guys! https://reddit.soccerstreams.net/event/manchester-city-arsenal-live-stream/187407
I know we've not created a lot and City deserve the lead, but man, to concede like that is infuriating. We'd defended so resolutely for most of the game and soaked up a lot of pressure. Had they scored from the passage of play with de Bruyne, Jesus and Silva nicely interlinking, I wouldn't have complained too much because their quality and movement is world-class. But to let a goal in because Luiz miscontrolled a simple pass, so close to half-time... I thought Luiz had turned a new leaf under Arteta. I thought he was an important leader on the pitch, in the dressing room and was one of very few players we have who can break the lines from deep positions, which made him an essential first-team regular. However, he is just too error prone. He has made far too many mistakes this season and there is no excusing it any more. He needs to leave once this season ends. He is a massive liability. All our good defensive work undone by a moment of sheer stupidity.
****ing Luiz - I'm sitting here and when Mari goes of injured my mate says "Luiz on...thats you ****ed then. He will cost you a goal for sure"
what an idiotic signing Luiz was. I was 100% correct in my prediction. Would rather have Mustafi than him.
Will someone please explain to me what happened to double jeopardy???? why was the penalty given AND luiz sent off???
Nah. He's so **** that double jeopardy would have been giving the penalty but leaving Luiz ON the pitch.
David Luiz should never play for the club again. His contract ends June 30th, we play 3 games before that - 1 of which hes suspended for. tell him to **** off.
the recruitment at this club is SO BAD, I cannot believe it. We are in such a dire way. no money (even less due to covid), owner who does not care, any good players going out of contract, and the rest are ****.
Based on the line-up today I can only presume. 1) Ozil may be on his way out. 2) Lacazette will be sold. Arteta has played Nketiah and Martinelli ahead of him on multiple occassions now. 3) David Luiz's deal ends this Summer and I doubt we'll be extending. 4) Mari - could be getting a new deal. 5) Rob Holding doesnt appear to have a future under Arteta.
Is this just a case of not being ready for this first game? not trained well enough? City look much sharper than us (in addition to having better players in general.) Or are we really this far off being a competent side?? We look awful. We have not done anything all evening. edit: is it just me or do the players we have also look like they just dont give a ****?????
