The way the news broke must have been unbearable for the families involved, and my thoughts go out to those as well as all their friends and colleagues...Absolute tragedy..
I just to pass my condolences to the families of those killed in this tragic accident, I am from the area and am positively stricken that this happened. My family have had someone killed in a mining accident in the early sixties. Also can I pass on my thoughts and condolences to the family of Harry Patterson the 5 year old child who died in pontardawe a few days ago in such tragic circumstances, that with the mining accident has left me stunned and deeply saddened.
don't know the story regarding young Harry but this is bloody awful, terrible, my prayers are with his parents as it's the worst thing that could happen to anyone (losing a son/daughter)
It's here mate, and practically the same village as the mining accident http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-14911089
So sorry for the families and friends of the guys involved. Life is so fragile and this makes a nonsense of all the trivia we get involved in from day to day.
This is just simply awful news and heartbreaking. Condolences to all family and friends of the miners, total respect and RIP. Glad to see plenty of messages of support from fans of other clubs too. I've seen threads on the boards of Hull City and Cardiff City just to name a couple, thanks lads it's very much appreciated, there will also be a minutes silence before the game against West Brom tomorrow too http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2453310,00.html
Mackem in peace thoughts and condolences to all the family and friends of the miners, also to the family and friends of wee Harry
My deepest sympathy goes out to the family & friends of those brave men. Spare a thought to those left behind. Wifeâs without Husbands. Motherâs without sons. Children without fathers The hurt will never go, though time will heal. R.I.P.
It has mate, I don't know any of these personally or their families as far as I am aware, but friends of friends no doubt will, the area I grew up in is just a mile or so away and it has really hit home these tragedies.
It's so heartbreaking to think of what those poor men went through. Truly feel so saddened at the loss of their lives. My thoughts & deepest condolences go out to their devastated families, friends & the local community. I think we've all felt this today. It puts so many things into perspective & shows how precious life is. RIP lads.....
Hi guys, Just wanted to come on here and further the condolences from the Cardiff board. Its a terrible thing to have happened, and thoughts are with those affected. May they rest in peace
It's good to see that Cardiff City will be honouring these guys as well, I heard malkys interview earlier and can see that the team will be wearing black armbands in their games against Blackpool and Leicester http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2453668,00.html
Hopefully the fella that was rushed into hospital yesterday pulls through....... c'mon son, you can do it.
I think many Sunderland fans will have a special empaphy with the Swansea community, many of us are from good mining stock. I watched the story unfold in tears so have absolutly no idea how the families coped, in many ways the final news will have come as a sad relief. In this day and age its sad that anyone should go off to work and not come home, RIP
Everyone coming together at times like this helps restore your faith in humanity a touch, it's really nice to see. While I don't know anyone connected to it I've worked in that area for a fair while, and I can only imagine the impact it's had on the community. Thoughts, wishes and prayers are with all those involved. RIP.
