7 of the first 10 threads at the moment have nothing to do with Horse Racing on here though. Can't imagine a new member would be that excited to join when he see's the clutter of stuff not involving racing.

Possibly. Don't get me wrong. I like most of the off topic threads myself and I have an interest in most sport, it's just I think it has diluted the racing thread quite a lot to the extent where last week I think we had 2 or 3 posts on the daily thread, a record low and there isn't much horse racing being discussed at all.

It's not the first time it's been that low STH (I used to be able to analyse on the old site but seem to have lost that facility here); it's happened a few times and it wasn't due to off topic threads. I think it's a combination of poor midweek racing, the weather and maybe holidays. One could argue that without the "non horse racing" threads what would we all talk about if the racing isn't interesting. For example, the The "Discuss Anything EXCEPT Horses" Thread has had well over 50k views and approaching 2.5k posts. Share Trading Chat is on its way to 11k views. Those and other threads keep people interested when the racing doesn't

I don't think anything will really dilute the daily racing thread other than poor racing which does nothing to attract the volume of daily racing chat..

I have no problem with any off topic threads Ron as I jut said but it definitely doesn't attract new members in the current state.

Appreciated STH. It would be interesting to see the activity on other forums. Are we losing members or is the same everywhere when racing is "dire".?

I think Attivo has an opt out clause in his contract should the number of posts fall below a certain number. Better check the contract and start posting on the Daily Thread
