Given they won the last National Election (the only party other than labour or conservatives to do this in 100 years) and won a seat in every single geographic area throughout the entire UK including wales and Scotland, on top of winning two bi-elections and almost the third from labour. I'd say they can probably rustle up a few candidates
No party does to be fair, there is a long list of racists, sexists, ****philes, adulterers etc in the labour and conservative parties. They are all full of less than desirable characters. The lib dems and Tories have done a great job of discrediting themselves whilst in government and 3 terms of labour ****s ups has left the country with no front runner for the next election. Indeed it would seem discrediting themselves is something political parties do very well!
That's the way it's always been - whoever has the support of the majority of newspapers and particularly rupert Murdoch have always won the election
The Tories in particular have had their fair share of undesirables, but in my opinion UKIP attracts these sort of people because they are basically a xenophobic party, trying to come across as a legitimate outfit
I remember a high profile manager (can't remember exactly who) was let off a driving ban for speeding because he told the police he was busting for a ****
I think it's more that being the only party to have very openly discussed some difficult and contentious issues they have attracted the xenophobic support element that would normally have voted for parties like the BNP. The issue which has ultimately gained UKIP most votes is the main issue the party had intended to achieve, pulling out of the EU,as evidenced by the historic victory in the European elections.
I believe so, doesn't do UKIPs PR people much good lol But you can't choose who votes for you and ultimately it's your policies and then action within government once you get there that political parties should be judged on. Personally I'm quite interested to see how UKIP will do should they get enough seats to have an impact on our next government. It's once a party has power that you get to see there true colours and capabilities.
It doesn't really though does it. There is one party with a realistic chance of gaining some power at this general election who openly discuss immigration and how they would deal with the issues arising from it. Given that Nick Griffin was head of a party with immigration as there overriding key policy it's no surprise that he will be voting for UKIP really is it? If the leader of a racist group says he supports someone it doesn't by default make that person a racist. That is terrible logic and reasoning!
But they are not the only party that discusses immigration - true they are the only party who blames immigration for everything - in spite of the complex benefits/negatives of immigration. But Tories built their previous election campaign on reducing immigration by (I think) 60%, and spent a lot of time campaigning/promoting this totally unachievable target. - They have since demonstrated how ridiculous it is by admitting that immigration has since gone up under them. The Lib Dems had some quite radical ideas on reducing immigration, and particularly non-tax paying illegal immigrants. And I think Labour wanted to improve the UK Border Agency. It's true that you can't stop Griffin from supporting UKIP (or whoever else he chooses) but it is worrying to think that UKIP represent the sort of policies and values that attract people like Nick Griffin, and also have a leader known for making racist and sexist comments.
You forgot to mention that the chairman of UKIP in the constituency where Farage is standing is an ex member of the NF
