I don't think Thatcher ever backtracked, no matter how many people she hurt or trampled!

You should never be afraid to backtrack if you are in the wrong.

That would be the human thing to do, but I'm not sure Thatcher was ever human...

Thatcher also knew about Cyril Smith, Leon Brittan and Peter Morrison, yet she recommended them all for honours.
She was implicated in covering up Hayman's crimes and the police and intelligence services went after anyone who threatened to expose it all.
Regardless of political affiliations, it's astounding that she's still being treated as a hero by anyone, even if Magic Man's taking the piss.

That's why its important to read and understand history, not from newspapers etc who have their own agendas, but from real independent sources that look at facts.

They may be facts, but I really wish that they weren't. I feel like I've been watching an episode of Brass Eye.
Chris Morris did have Neil Fox and Rolf Harris in that series, so perhaps he knew more than we did?

I know I wasn't around at the time, but I did my research on her and it baffles me that there are organisations like the Margaret Thatcher Foundation and that people host Thatcher Memorial dinners and events. She was one of the worst human beings on the entire planet and I hope she rots in hell.

Moving away from UK politics - what do you guys think about the situation in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine?

Will be interesting to hear what people's views are.

Personally I don't think it is something that should be discussed here as there are too many entrenched views <ok>

    Okay, another subject:

Should a cream tea be made with the cream on top of the jam or the other way around ?

    Discuss ...

Neither I think it's a criminal waste to divert cream from it's true calling which is to produce ice cream!

My god! I haven't thought about one of those for years, my grandfather used to buy them for us all the time, when I was a kid!

Not in Spain!!! At best people couldn't care less, in Catalunya and Pais Vasco the Spanish Royal Family is loathed as a symbol of Castile and Catholicism!! For me coverage about the British Royal Family should be reduced to nigh on zero. The only one there should be any media coverage about is the Queen in her role as head of state.

Amongst the usual sensible contenders like squash and netball, there are some obscure 'sports' bidding to be in the 2020 Olympics:
    • chess
    • bridge
    • flying disc (wtf?)
    • tug of war
    • orienteering
    • wakeboarding
I literally cannot wait to for the spectator draw of orienteering. That s**t is going to go viral!

Was doing a little research on Jeremy Paxman and Andrew Neil. Little did I know they have Tory allegiances! <doh>
just seen the quote by Paxman claiming he's a "one-nation Tory" whilst Andrew Neil said Thatcher "won hearts and votes", whilst being a member of the Scottish Conservative club at university.

I guess I shouldn't be entirely surprised, given the nature of some of their questions, but I am disappointed I have to say.
