Apparently I'm a pinko, tree loving, hippy commie - and to be a decent member of society I should act more like Alf Garnet...

I hear you. Fortunately our immigration policy is set up to deal with the complexities of people coming to the UK for a variety of reasons.
That's why I don't want Farage and his band of Bigots anywhere near it <ok>

Would I be right in thinking that UKIP won't be getting many votes from members of this forum ?

I should have mentioned this site before - but https://voteforpolicies.org.uk is a handy site for finding out the different parties policies, and being able to identifying the issues that are important to you - be they the NHS, Europe, the Economy or Immigration for example.

Screw Ukip, anyone watching the snooker intros just now? Hilarious. Never really watch it... But they're coming out to an over-eager MC trying to big them up as cool dudes. Out comes some middle aged bald chubby guy in a bow tie looking like a servant from the titanic to the rap music from 8 mile. Is this serious? Are they trying to sex snooker up or is it supposed to be so appallingly tongue in cheek? It's embarrassing to watch them come out to this!

It's quite amusing to see the difference between the results of that site and the actual polls.
The Tories are 5th and the Greens are 2nd on there.
People literally don't know what they're voting for.

He is a husband and father as well, so based on your logic that must mean all husbands and fathers are racists too.

You're as much a cretin as that UKIP geezer.

???? Somebody calls somebody whose made racist comments a racist, who belongs to a party whose leader has made a lot of racist comments, and many of it's candidates have made racist comments - yet he is as bad as the racist for pointing it out? Weird logic...

I think the point he's making is that this guy being a racist doesn't prove cyms point that UKIP are a racist party.

He only threatened to shoot his political opponent, having previously worked with him.
Out of context and that. Probably.
What about all of the other racists that keep making twats of themselves? What would prove it?

Earlier in the thread I listed a load of examples of labour MPs, councillors and members being racist (I also believe a Tory councillor is serving time for racist assault, but I'd have to double check). It doesn't mean the Labour Party is racist. There are ****s within the Tories and labour too, doesn't mean I think either are the **** party.

Plenty of idiots have found there way into UKIP. It's grown at an unprecedented rate and it must be difficult to get in the right people and due to there immigration stance some idiots will be attracted and the media have had a field day with jumping on any comment by anyone at any level of the party and portraying it as the party and it's voters, views.

As for what would prove it - well there would have to actually be racist content to what the party wants to achieve, rather than the views of some individuals.

The difference is that there are plenty of people that represent the other parties that aren't racist or who haven't made racist comments.
UKIP seems to have a substantial amount of morons at pretty high levels.
When Farage himself says things like "we've got a half-black", then you know something's off.

The party is an attempt to drag the Tories a little to the right and get a referendum, so that the media arseholes can try to get what they want.
They're taking serious issues that deserve to be debated and turning them into a joke.

What is it the media arseholes want? Are you suggesting the media have been pro UKIP?

Also do you mean UKIP are taking serious issues and making them a joke? Or that the media are taking serious issues and making them a joke?

I can't quite figure out what you mean, sorry!
