All of those points are valid in their own right but I wanted to focus on the black or ethnic minority ppl who come out with the same ignorant views. Dont they apply it to their own ancestors? And dont they realise they're adding legitamacy to the pap UKIP & Farage spout.

Take the demonisation of immigrants, ethnic minorities and religious minorities to the extreme and history tells us what happens.

Like I've said. The right wing make it their mission to get the low paid to blame the unemployed and the unemployed to blame the immigrants, for low pay, lack of jobs, lack of housing, over burdened NHS, education, hospital, public services etc etc.

Those ****s have allowed their rich friends to carve a £160bn hole in the economy and they still reward them with tax cuts and improved pay. Blatantly ****ed.

Anyone watch the Political Leaders debate on ITV?

I thought the people who did best were as follows:

    1. Sturgeon
    2. Bennett
    3. Miliband
    4. Wood
    5. Clegg
    6. Cameron
    7. Farage

Farage was an embarrassment as usual, the bit about HIV and 'health tourism' was shocking and was countered brilliantly by Sturgeon, not that I read this thread fully, but thankfully there only seems to be one poster who backs Farage and his horrific party on here.

The thing I find interesting about most UKIP supporters is that they always fall for the stereotypes and myths which are constantly peddled.

In the GC section, there's a General Election thread and I have debating with a Manc. He made a comment about UKIP and Farage in staunch support of them which I assumed was tongue-in-cheek. When I asked him if it was, he had this to say:

His subsequent posts after that had also included a lot of myths and misrepresentations, but I'd rather not go into it.

Trust it to be a United fan who supports UKIP and Farage!

Just watched it on catch up now, as you say farage is an embarrassment, he seemed to be trying to act like a laddish everyman playing for laughs - his plan seemed to be yo save £10bn by stopping goving foreign aid, take money off the Scots and save £2bn by stopping health tourism. And off these savings they would eliminate the deficite, protect the nhs and increase investment in it while not raising taxes!

But i was honestly bored by all the main party leaders, they just bickered like little boys answering any criticism of their own party with 'ohh but x did xyz before'.

Compared to the women they all looked really bad. I thought sturgeon and Bennett came across really well and wood came across decently

Farage was a ****ing embarrassment, but I'm thankful that he was on national TV to show everybody what an utter ****ing shambles it would be having any UKIP MPs in the commons.

I agree that the women did very well and Nicola Sturgeon in particular held her own against Cameron and Milliband. The trouble is in Scotland however is that the more people who vote for SNP, means that Labour's vote is reduced and Cameron is more likely to get into No10 again, which is kind of the opposite of what they want.

Scotland poncing off us = Bad
    Health tourists = Bad
Farage = mad as a box of frogs

The messenger may be a tit, but much of the message he tries to convey is correct.

The only problem I have with immigration is helping people integrate and learn about the country's customs and traditions...and maybe learn about theirs. That's literally about it. If we can do that we'll go a long way.

All our other problems apply as much to our indigenous population as they do anyone.

Did anyone see that documentary on BBC 1 on Tuesday night ? It was about British immigrants living on the Costa Del Sol in Spain, part of the programme showed a health clinic which was part of the Spanish NHS.Most of the patients at the clinic were British immigrants, the programme also happened to mention that interpreters had to be employed as the British immigrants never made the effort to learn Spanish.

You all might think farage was an embarrassment but all the opinion polls I've seen today had him in the top 3 of the 7. According to the bbc one poll had Farage as coming out best, one had the SNP first with UKIP second and the other couple had Milliband, Cameron, Farage and Cameron, Milliband, Farage as the order.

So it would seem in general he was well received.

Edit: the one farage won had it as a three way tie between farage, milliband and Cameron.

Edit2: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32172871 is the link, scroll about halfway down the screen for an image with the poll results.

It was good to see the smaller parties get a good platform to speak and hopefully it has a positive effect on vote numbers for the smaller parties across the board.

What a bunch of ****s, can't understand people who move to another country and don't bother to learn the language! It's infuriating seeing how some Brits are in Spain, it isn't that hard to make an effort!

The Elephant in UKIP's room is that the British Isles are full of immigrants anyway. We're all a mix of Anglo-Saxon / Germanic / Nordic settlers anyway. And if you trace the DNA of most 'English' people, there's usually a mix of Sub Asian / African / Middle Eastern genetics anyway.

This idea of England for the English is a misnomer. And UKIP represent the politics of division, when we should be moving in a more integrated and intelligent way instead of blaming the 'outsiders'
