As as youngster I got my foot caught in the wheel of my dad's bike while he was giving me a 'crossbar'. We were going downhill and he couldn't stop quick enough so my foot and lower leg were shred to ribbons right down to the bone. Luckily they managed to save my foot but needless to say I still have the scars. You can only imagine what my Mum said to my Dad !
Not quite as incredible as the story in the Op, but it was a pretty gruesome sight.

He should have taken up a legal claim against Spielberg for making E T.

I was quite young, 6-7 I believe when visiting family friends in Switzerland. I took a tumble near the edge of a rather high drop in the mountains, rolled to and over the edge to get saved by bamble bushes.................and I was wearing shorts! Painful but still alive.

Bah!
