Nearly wet my pants with excitement when I saw the letters were coming back :emoticon-0111-blush
I know its only a few letters and paving stones but i take it this means no south stand extension? ( by near i mean next 2/3 years) as they would have waited and avoided the expense!

Not necessarily mate. Putting "Welcome to Sunderland " up could easily be incorporated into the future South Stand redevelopment, same for the paving stones. Possibly it's just that now it's easier to create a mock up of the South Stand with "Welcome to Sunderland" on so it can be visualised and they could maybe put it up during the close season in time for next.

That wouldn't be unreasonable. Certainly I think they'd want to see us looking as good next season again. Maybe they'll think it's worth it then.

Moving stuff like that is coppers compared to what an extension would cost anyway. Easily absorbed.

I was just looking at the paved area behind the south stand at the weekend. It's really wide! I trying to picture the legends way and an extension in the space and I think their would be enough room for both. I know nothing about planning regulations and architecture like!

That's class. Almost brought a tear to my cynical old eyes!

Seriously, after the crap about the 65 tickets (I've not commented as I'm both shocked and angry at it) this is a bit of good publicity for the club. It shows we can do things with a bit of class, so why are the ticket office so f@cking useless?

A young lad from New York just deciding that a northeastern championship team with no real superstars is the one for him!

Ya love to see it
