I think to be fair to Lambert Wednesday was the first time that he has got the team and formation fundamentally wrong. When you consider that he adjusts the team and tactics pretty much every game and he is generally very positive and decisive with his substitutions I feel that yes, we can criticise, but we should appreciate just how much tactical nous and skillful man-management PL has shown to get our squad of players (which remains full of potential but relatively unproven at Premiership level) up to mid-table.

When you think of the teams we have played this season and got results against our position is nothing sort of superb - look at Sunderland's team and the number of experienced international players therein or West Brom with a £10m striker or Wolves with a number of top players and consider that we are still well out of the relegation dogfight.
 
i just wonder what effect o'neill being the opposition manager had on PL. didn't seem himself at all at the match, especially in the first half which he spent sitting down, something i can't remember seeing before.

I noticed this, too, no passion, no animated behaviour - nothing that we associate with PL. I'm sure he wouldn't feel intimidated playing against the old 'gaffer' but in all his 126 games in charge, I don't recall this approach?
 
i mentioned in my original post that i thought lambert looked a little overwhelmed by everything on wednesday night. not sure if he was or not but he certainly didn't seem his usual self and i think it rubbed off on his team unfortunately
 
I think it was an imposter on our bench on Wednesday, there's no way the real Paul Lambert wouldn't have made three changes at half-time <ok>
