Mussolini shagging Jewish Margherita Sarfatti didn't stop Italian Fascism being racist to the max. The Race Laws were based on this: please log in to view this image How your black players would feel seeing that one can only imagine.
Explicit and conscious racism is conditioned, and shouldn't be accepted in any format. It's actually disgusting that in this day and age people can be so thick. As I say, sexual preferences and even peer groups can be determined by our make-up. I mean, homosexuality is biologically prepared, and in a similar way so is our genetic leanings. ACS is just a freak... I can't figure out what went wrong in his head to create the redhead malfunction I shall. I believe I read it when he quit Swindon. I still think you should give the guy a chance anyway, just as an educated man prepared to accept and learn. I mean, you had cross-dressing Brucey for years and didn't get on his back
Presumably? Great reporting and research there sky I'm finding it hard to locate the specific item I read(if I did read it and didn't make it up ), obviously because every form of social media and newspaper has exploded with this appointment... Sorry froggy, will keep trying! However, I think the post above by the Mirror (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/paolo-di-canio-fascist-can-1796086) has something of value for some of the assumptions. The Vaughan Identity has touched on most of it, already, but it makes some ok points (mixed with sensationalist ****... I expect the writer is schizo). Really, I think Di Canio needs to explain himself as a matter of urgency. The North East is pretty liberal as a region, and a hardcore fascist won't last long.
I can certainly 'muster' quite a few more if I put my mind to it. Just because you're a thickarse, doesn't mean I have to be (those words short enough for you?)
Di Canio supports the views of Mussolini who was a fascist. He believed in as totalitarian state run by agents of suppression manifested through violence. He also said Africans were an inferior race and sent Italian Jews to their death via the Nazi concentration camps. Let me put it in simple terms for lexicologically challenged (Gandalf) - Di Canio admires the views of a racists ethnic cleanser
I am so conflicted by this appointment after watching games since 1969' getting close to 800 in that time, I find that I am having difficulty even thinking about walking into the ground with PDC in charge of my club. A fascist who claims not to be racist and has written a column in which he defends players of all races, is also a very conflicted person. It is probably the case that the truth of his beliefs lie in a working class upbringing in Italy and the gang culture there which results in street gangs taking on political labels from extreme groups of both left and right, with out always understanding what they stand for. What does go with it is football violence, which makes anything we had here seem very tame . The ultras at a number of clubs in Italy often claim to be fascists. So it would be valid to claim that Italian fascism today is different form that of the past, however the heart of it is still as dark as ever and having any body who is willing to be associated with fascism in a high profile office gives the impression that we can accept this vile creed as harmless. To say that it does not effect me so let it go reminds me of a famous quote from a German pastor about the rise of fascists in Germany First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me. So on balance, I love this club, but I will not keep quite about the danger of allowing fascists to join the main stream. I will attend games but ware anti fascist tee shirts and sing anti fascist songs. The club wil be here long after this dark time has past.
"While it's a matter of record that Di Canio has previously declared his sympathy with the historical tradition of fascism, such pronouncements don't represent an area of his life he wishes to relive or revisit. There is no denying the DVX tattoo on his shoulder (the Latin appellation for Benito Mussolini). It's the symbolic expression of an opinion expressed in his autobiography, in a passage which has frequently been misquoted so as to appear more incendiary than it actually is. "I am fascinated by Mussolini," Di Canio wrote. "I think he was a deeply misunderstood individual. He deceived people. His actions were often vile. But all this was motivated by a higher purpose. He was basically a very principled individual. Yet he turned against his sense of right and wrong. He compromised his ethics." "
Di Canio's declared fascism is a huge insult to Sunderland's Black players. This is Italian Fascism: http://diecimila.me/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Visioni-Abissine.jpg
Did you harangue the Swindon fans like this? No, you have an agenda Imaz, your worse than DiCanio has ever been.
Actually no. Racism is prejudice against someone based on their race. I listen to what people have to say and how they behave without prejudging them. You have the ability to consciously override any preconceptions you may have about a group of people - blacks, whites, old people, hoodies, whatever. As for attraction, I have had sex with white European women from eight different countries, an Indian woman, a black African and two Arabs. I have settled down with someone now so unfortunately don't think I'll get to complete the set.
Imaz, facism is not about the colour of your skin, it is about ideals, the fact that it has been portrayed as a "racist" faction by you speaks more for your indequacies than ours. DiCanio has declared on many occasions he is not racist - you need to look at the whole picture and not just the bits you are conveniently focusing on to suit your own agenda.
Tut tut, fascist manager and an IRA sympathiser/promoter and these lot will be running round with invest in Africa on their strips. Pretty shameful really. On the field changes had to be made as oneill seemed to be putting out a team with little commitment or pattern. At least this 'man' will affect some positive changes
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, especially when it is used by someone as incompetent as you.
