I'd hate Grayson back, and he's a manager not a coach so a non starter anyway

I think if he was aproached and given a little leeway,he would be happy to come back as coach.

The Leeds job was impossible for David Hockaday to turn down – but also an impossible job to do.

I think we are all aware that he had no control over transfers, with Massimo Cellino and the Sporting Director, Nicola Salerno, deciding who should be playing and who shouldn’t.

For all intents and purposes that makes the manager’s role redundant – except for being the one who takes the flak and speaks to the media when things go wrong.

I really would love to know how much of a say he has over who actually starts a game, looking at our odd selections you would have to assume it wasn't Cellino?

My outside bet would be for Cellino to pay some compensation and go for Eamon Dolan

My preference is Clarke, but I'd be quite happy if we persuaded Strachan to come back. Curve ball for you to think about - Souness. Done it all before & speaks fluent Italian. Would also batter Cellino to a pulp if he tried to interfere with selection etc. Just sayin' ...

I would have said no way to Souness a year ago but now I would be happy for anyone half decent. I remember laughing at Hull appointing Steve Bruce and look at what he has achieved with them. You just never know how a collection of players and a coach/manager are going to click. It is going to be a mammoth task for Cellino to persuade a bigger named coach to come in.

Clarke would be a brilliant appointment for this division and shouldn't have been fired by West Brom.

Souness I don't rate as a coach or manager. Don't think Strachan would leave the Scotland Job. TBH even though he was been the best manager in the long time Grayson would be a no for me.

He's not my cup of tea, but he ain't got no dickhead. Totally revolutionised Scottish football, and not just Rangers. Balls of steel, taking on the religious issues. Inherited an over the hill Liverpool team & started building a team for the future with the youngsters before the rug was pulled from under him.

Think on, Shaks! Thinking about it, he could probably replace any of our midfielders even given his grand old age.

I'd like Clarke but I don't think we'd offer enough money to get him. He will have easily have been on more wages when he was assistant than the pennies we offer him.

I've also quite fancied Jimmy Floyd coming back but its just whether he has the experience at this stage in his managerial career to be up to the huge task... plus I'd feel sorry for him when he is eventually sacked as I also liked him as Leeds player.

I still think that who ever gets it is inheriting a pretty special team that should be able to challenge up the top of the league! Just hope we get somebody who has the ability to get the best out of them and not just another cheap, and ultimately useless, stop-gap.

I just feel sorry for whoever gets the job, unless he is allowed to do the job and as mentioned a few times not be a figurehead

nobody lasts very long at leeds that's why they are where they are...should have kept grayson when he was there, he would have sorted out a good team by now but was never given enough time...no manager gets enough time at leeds and that's the problem..

    I'm hopeful ...

Quite cloak-and-dagger on the head coach front but we're told that there's already been dialogue between Leeds and Steve Clarke. #lufc

    Yeah and it sounded like:

MC: how much would it take for you to come in as head coach?

    SC: 500K pa

    MC: see ya bye!

Think Clarke would be a really good option, if we will pay what he's asking. We need someone that has experience of English league and also experience of being head coach. Fits the bill.
