The most incredible thing about OBZ's brilliant goal was that he ran onto the pass and BEAT Lescott for speed!
Also, all those on here who continue to moan about defensive frailties should take into account that we should have been given TWO penalties for blatant handball. So it could have been 1-6!!

You RRssss

As Guillet said on motd. .."If Messi scored that goal the media would be talking about it for weeks. ...".

Probably the same if Rooney had scored it...

A sublime finish. ...

Yes, I thought where has that come from? I think Lescott simply thought 'show him outside on his right foot' and switched off a bit, another beautifully executed piece of opportunism on a day of outstanding goals...

In what way does two possible penalties for us make up for letting 55 goals in, 6 more than anybody else? We are all happy about the result, why use it to take an (in this case ignorant) pop at other posters?

Spot on.
Exactly what happened on the match day thread too.

It was a great win. We all enjoyed it.
Now we move on to Tuesday night.

I thought the one that hit Morrisson's arm was a pen defo - he had time to move his arm out of the way. The other one he probably didn't. But what has that gotta to do with our defensive frailties which were very evident again yesterday. Isla doing what he has done too many times - failing to spot an opponent right behind him, who nearly scored, and then after tacking Berbini (sp?) well, he stood 2 ,meters off with his arms behind him, and let him get in the cross they scored from. Isla wasn't the only one, Yun was probably worse, I'd have Traore or Clint, if the opposition have no speed on that side, back there again.

No we shouldn't. The 2nd one was arms down by the side, 100% certainly not a penalty. The first one would have been harsh considering it was out on the edge of the box and the ball was going away from goal. Technically perhaps but in real terms it would've been harsh.

There are far too many pens given in the modern game & its hurt the sport. Neither of our claims v Spurs were pens either despite what everyone keeps saying. Watch them again in real time and be honest with yourself.

That's true but partly fuelled by the pathetic diving culture that's prevalent in the game these days. I think it would be far better abolishing penalties all together in open play and just giving free kicks wherever the offence takes place. Keep penalties for shootouts...
