And more skill, and more power, and more intelligence, and more cohesion, and more commitment, and more effort, and more running, and more youth, and more of everything Sarri doesn't have.

I'm all for giving managers longer time because we keep sacking managers left right and centre but agreed this pass pass pass style is boring.

Why he keeps picking specific personnel and not getting people into the box is baffling.

We don't create any chances and its pretty boring even if we do have possession. It reminds me of van gaals United from a few seasons back

I agree, but ‘Sarri Ball’ isn’t about pace. Sarri Ball seems to be centred on Jorginho, and I’ve never seen Jorginho actually take the ball forward with any pace.

I think we have to accept that players are under instruction and not playing their natural game. Barkley for instance looks a world beater for England and is all but useless for Chelsea.
Jorghino, Barkley and Kovacic, Sarris go- to midfield, creates few assists and scores no goals.
The problem is that Sarris system doesn't work in the PL because it is too easy to stop, and doesn't stand up to the pace and aggression of PL play, from the top teams to the bottom.
His set up gives the back four no protection from midfield, so they have to work much harder, and the front 3 get only scraps to work with ,plus almost all the forward movement goes to Hazard who is often isolated, and cuts inside only to face a wall of defenders.
Yet he persists with Jorghino as lynchpin, hoping what?? That Jorghino will miraculously become what he was in Napoli ? Not going to happen, too frail and too slow.
With the personnel we have, for the remainder of this season, we need Kante in his right position, RLC starting every game he's fit for, CHO starting games in regular rotation with Pedro or Willian, and Giroud as 1st choice striker. Christensen and Ampadu need to be rotated with Luiz and Rudi, though that's less important, and Dave needs to play all he can, with Emerson replacing Alonso far more often.
Who else he plays in midfield is Sarris' dilemma, and of his own making. If he's a good manager, he needs to show it and solve problems instead of creating them.

I understand that and that is just one small problem. Speed is paramount these days and we are not cutting the ice. `whether this is Sarri's fault or the players I don't honestly know. In my day as a paid amateur of 17 years, it was all about getting behind the full backs and delivering balls to those who knew what to do with them. Maybe I'm old fashioned yeah

Maybe, but you are still right. CHO get's in behind and crosses, Hazard can do it in his sleep, but is pressured into always trying to score, Pedro is no slouch either. Just really poor Management and tactics.

.......you got it - “poor management and tactics”. Given the recent record of this club in moving on managers whether they’re good or bad, I can’t see Sarri being here much longer. At the end of the day, we’ve got two genuine world class players - Kante and Hazard - and Sarri definitely isn’t getting the best from them.

We were great with pace under Conte in his first season with Alonso and Moses tearing down the wings. In Conte’s second season other clubs worked out how to stop us. It took just a few months for other clubs to realize that if they mark Jorginho out of the game we’re easy meat. Sarri will play Jorginho every game for whatever reason and I’m sure this intransigence has lost us at least 10 Premiership points this season.

I can’t see any reason for us not being capable of winning the league with the players we’ve got if we had the right manager...........because we’ve got pace in abundance.

Agree with this entirely. Our team should have been challenging this year but we lack pace the way he has us playing. This suggests the way the team is set out is wrong, I noticed many times during the Cardiff game that Rudiger had opportunities to play the ball out wide early but clearly he had been instructed to play the ball through the middle. We seem incapable of mixing up the play by using the long ball occasionally. Players like Higuain and Giroud are players who can exploit this at times but we never do it. Very frustrating!

I think we’re miles short of being anywhere near the league title. Full backs are so far away from Liverpool and City and so is our striker. Our midfield could be strong with a better selection imo but we’re even weak at centre back. To be fair, apart from Kante and Hazard I’m not actually sure any of our players would get into another top 6 team.
