Shout at me if you must but, a serious question from one who does have a faith, why is it that people who don't have a religious belief, something I find quite acceptable and understandable, but why do you get so angry about those who do. I get annoyed if people try to shove their beliefs down my throat, knock on my door trying to sell it, use it as an excuse to hurt, abuse or kill, all that I get.

What I never understand is, for example, why Jerseys belief in the Roman Catholic religion should upset, annoy or even concern anyone.

I think it's a question of faith in something whether that be in some sort of God, or faith in humanity, imo it's just something than can bring abit of peace and contentment to people when/or if they need it. Religious organisations can often put their own slant on it but the underlying message should be the same and I think a little faith can be a good thing and you don't need to go to a chapel/church to kiss the alter rails to prove you have faith. Also some people need to take a step back and think about what they are saying on here especially when I have seen what religous bigotry can do although the religion part is just an excuse for evil people to try and justify their actions.

If you look at religion from an historic and scientific prospective, it has almost certainly been created and designed in a manner in which to control the behaviour of societies. Most religions threaten the wrath of a higher being if you break the rules that are set out in the texts, and to a certain extent I believe that this tactic has proved successful...
The trouble has arisen when followers of differing religions truly believe that their way is the only right way, and they are willing to take extreme measures to 'persuade' others to see things their way..
