Wiggins was awesome today, whether he has a good personality or not, he can certainly ride a bike, and speak French a lot better than most English.
Well done to Wiggins, fantastic achievement and he's all but there. Sports Personality of the Year for me. Winning the Tour de France is a monumental achievement especially if you are a clean athlete which Bradley gives all the impressions of being. I don't think he will be losing any sleep tonight about some internet nerds moaning about his lack of personality either.
So - out of interest, what exactly does having a 'personality ' consist of? Or lacking one? I'm really interested to know the answer because from all I've read about Wiggins, he seems an OK guy , a bit obsessive maybe but I guess that is partly what makes him a winner. Seems to have a few other interests too; music, scooters, guitars, loses his rag with journalists sometimes, speaks fluent french, speaks his mind, a bit bolshie .......I could go on
If you don't do the old performing seal in front of TV/radio journos that means you don't have a personality to internet nerds I believe.
Sounds an interesting bloke to me, I think you hit the nail on the head, some people wouldn't know what was a good personality if it hit them in the face.
The Final Stage! Stage 20: Rambouillet to Paris Champs-Elysees (120km). Pretty level and more a parade than a serious race.....except for the sprinters, who will contest the finish. Cavendish will try for his fourth consecutive Champs-Elysees win. Barring accidents, Bradley Wiggins will finish in Yellow. Well done, Chris Froome.
Abdoujaparov- now there was a sprinter! Or was he a wrestler? Do you remember when he hit a doorway/threshold when challenging to win the final stage on The Champs Elysees? What a crash!
Don't be silly. Yes, he is a tad boring; the result is more so; but it's still "Well done, Bradley Wiggins!"
Well done Bradley. What an achievement. Glad you started this thread Stan. I know nowt about cycling, but i have watched a fair bit of it since you lot hooked me. As HHH says likes his mod stuff too, though he should wear a vest for the last stage IMO!!!! Pity we cant delete the idiotic comments on this thread.
I'd agree with this. I'd detest being in a locked room with one of those 'wacky' entertainer types like Gazza, Ian ****ing Wright or Kris Akabusi (sp?)? Braindead morons the lot of them always playing up to the cameras. Some people think Jose has a dull personality but for me he is the most charasmatic man in the public eye.
He's a professional sportsman trying to win the biggest competition in his sport!! I'm pretty sure he doesn't care a few blokes sat at a computer dont think he's entertaining enough in interviews!! He's focussed on one thing, winning!! That focus is the sign of a great sportsperson! Too many fall for the media hype only to be shown up when it came to winning! Well done Bradley, Chris Froome, Cav and the rest of Team Sky on a fantastic achievement!! Hope they repay Cav by helping him to Olympic Gold in the road race on saturday!
Every single comment above you could apply to Nigel Pearson in his time at City. I swear one of the most depressing times I have had as a fan was when I overheard a conversation saying "We should bring back Brown. At least he was entertaining in interviews." I really do despair sometimes.
Well done Bradley, Chris Froome, Cav and the rest of Team Sky on a fantastic achievement!! Hope they repay Cav by helping him to Olympic Gold in the road race on saturday![/QUOTE] I especially agree with this.
Get in, British one two and Cavendish wins the final stage, didn't Bradley stop halfway round to help another rider too ?
The mighty 'Manx Missile' does it! Four years in a row on the Champs-Elysees. Wiggins 1st. Froome 2nd. Chapeau! Chapeau!
FFS patty. Sometimes its best just to keep your thoughts to yourself. That's not a dig, just a friendly tip. Anyway, congrats to Wiggins, Froome, Cav and all at team sky. An awesome team performance.
