Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union and the Dutch Antilles. Films without Taylor Lautner. Films with John Candy (I miss him) Hot Dogs at McDonalds. (Seriously, I think I was the only one that liked them) A Bond film that actually feels like a James Bond film and not a cross between the Bourne Identity and Mission Impossible. Stephen Hawking skateboarding. Dodos. Pokemon Cards. A decent meal at Huckleberry's on Prince's Quay top deck (seriously, sausage chips and beans, tea and a cig. Perfect Friday afternoon before a night on the town).
Oh yeah, Huckleberry's, I believe Lambo developed quite a liking for their cheesy chips Tommy, not that he'd ever own up to it obviously
Totally agree no other TV chef came anywhere near his presentation and that goes for Philip Harben and Fanny and Johnie Craddock.
Is it cheese, or chips you don't like? Next you'll say you dont like Salt and Vinegar on your burgers or some other crazy talk.
I like chips and I like cheese, I just don't like cheese melted over my chips. As for burgers, I like sweetcorn relish on mine.
The first time I came across Sweetcorn relish was in Yankeeburger on Jameson Street. I wonder sometimes if it was really as good as I remember. Were the Yankee Burgers really as huge as I think or was I just a lot smaller?
I ****ing loved Yankee Burger. Not living in Hull the only time we got to go was before watching City, making for the best Saturday a 12 year old me could ever wish for.
This. That really was a good restaurant; never understood why it closed, it was always well busy when I went in. The American Diner on St. Andrew's Quay was also great for a Burger stack. And if you were having a birthday party, then nothing was better than running around Lazerquest for an hour, followed by the totally exhausting Indie's Assault Course and an extremely sugary cordial drink.
The original Yankeeburger wasn't a restaurant, it was a take-away on Jameson St and it was way better than the restaurant that opened much later.
.... If I remember the original Yankee Burger had seats eventually though OLM the old lass shouting your orders out. I mentioned Yankee Burger much earlier in this thread.
