He is indeed, his office is next door to mine, though he's rarely in it, Simon(his son) runs the show now.
Last time I saw him to talk to was in the Hotham Arms which he owned at that time, I first got to know him when he played in goal for the team we both played for.
He doesn't own the Hotham Arms now, he flogged it to the landlord Joe, he also flogged his house in Hotham and planned to live in Portugal, but he's back here much of the time and he's decided to build himself a new house here now. He'll be in the Premier Club for at least half our home games.
Just want to wish you r mate good luck with the opening and to remind everyone that alcohol is a depressant and if you drink enough of it you will become sad.If I make it I will be the smug looking bastard drinking orange juice with no mates-unless I tag along with Ash and Dicko
Cheers mate, I got sent a couple of photos today; they've restored the stairs to the conservatory and it looks more open and light now (**** knows why Vince installed that daft wall there). The beer lines have all been replaced and are all up and running, replete with new pythons (the beer line equipment, not the deadly snakes) and pumps. The ale is racked and is venting, hotel rooms are ready and it all looks good to go. And alcohol might be a depressant, but only if you let it get you down . I for one will be on spiced rum and coke, so I doubt you'll see me crying in a corner!
Haha I like Joe, he's a good laugh and he always makes you feel welcome. He once forgot to bring me my starter so I jokingly stated, when he came to collect my families empty plates, that my starter was delicious. He looked a bit mortified (he's really good friends with my Dad) and brought out two sausages in a blob of mash, arranged in an 'up yours' 'v' shape.
