    Cav moved as it was obvious that Sky were not going to work much for him to get sprint wins. Rather, they were all working for BW. Murdoch cycles merely wanted Cav as a 'draw', as they bid to raise cycling's profile until they can then sell it to the punters.

    Cavs new team couldn't get him across the finish line first in the final stage though, they made a right hash of it. The stage he'd wanted to defend as he'd won it umpteen times previously.

    But was it the bump/hole just before the line that did in his attempt, even though his train was not very good?

    No he was in a really bad position as the train brought him around towards the last corner.

    Spot on.

    Let's not forget, Wiggins had already had a glittering career on the track, littered with Olympic and world championship golds, before he seriously took up road racing.

    Froome's natural abilities are more suited to the grand tours, but Wiggins is the better all around rider. What he did to change his physique from the best track persuitist in the world, to the best road rider in the world is phenomenal.
