The thing is, the footballing wage bill at Rangers is only in the £6-7M range. Their turnover is £19M, yet they had £17M for total staff costs. Their non-footballing staff have been getting some pretty tidy wage packets, and I doubt it's Jimmy and his Mrs in the club shop taking that kind of money home with them.

Hmmm not sure , i think they made the mistake of signing SPL players to play in the Scottish fourth-tier, when they ought to have signed proven lower league footballers and taken the slowly-but-surely approach.

Their players wages in full account for less than half of the losses the club made in their first season. They're also only about 30-40% of their turnover, which is a figure most clubs would dream of. In L2 clubs are allowed 55%, and L1 it's up to 60%.

Plus, they couldn't sign players over 18 until last September, so for last season they had to use the "old Rangers" players or kids.

Which is exactly why building bridges with the Council (the forward-minded members of it at least..), embracing the City of Culture, entering into joint-collaboration, undertaking development to the benefit of BOTH the city and the club.. ad infinitum.. would surely be the way forward.

Ignoring the obvious revenue generating as Mr Allam is doing seems to be a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face

He's left with scratching around for evermore fantastical and farcical income boosting schemes which are blurted out in "shock-horror" fashion at the HDM, knee-jerk reactions to reasonable arguments and doom-mongering of the most pretentious and low kind.

Add to the mix, hurtful off-the-cuff comments, bullish arrogance, Arabesque leadership qualities and a constant "why don't you love me?" undercurrent of lachrymosity..

The "Good" doctor aspires to have all his pies and eat them..

Don't choke on the price tag!
