    Alan Shearer?

283 goals in 559 games in the Premier League and 30 goals in 63 games for England, I wish I'd underachieved that much.....

Best and Gazza. Both tremendous talents that weren't fully realised and, as such, underachieved

Not saying shearer wasnt the best striker the prem has ever seen..but if measured in silverware a man of his talents seriously underachieved, fergusons still shaking his head at big als decision to turn man u down.

Fair enough, I suppose one PL winners medal is not very representative of what his ability warranted.

I can't open the link on my phone , is it Diamond Lights by any chance ?

I remember bumping into a lad in town who was in the year above me at school at the time this ' song' in the charts .
I remember we both had Sid Scarbrough carrier bags and the conversation turned to what we had just purchased .

I'd just bought Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division and Songs to learn and sing by Echo and the Bunnymen .
When I asked him what he had bought he said, "Diamond Lights by Glenn and Chris "
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry .
I just walked off dazed and confused without saying anything else .
I made a point of never speaking to him again .

    It is indeed Diamond Lights.

I'm still partial to a little Joy Division and the Bunnymen now.

this is what i meant about waddle too...should have graced more big games for his talent, titles and european finals etc...whenever people talk about greatest england players of all time, he rarely gets a mention, yet hes one of the most talented players iver seen.

Was working with a French guy a few years back and he raved about Waddle, think he achieved things in France, pretty sure Marseilles were fantastic back then, but not over here, I remember watching Marseilles in the European Cup final but not sure if they won or even if he played.
