O/T Odds on the next singer/band to record the World Cup Song

That describes most of the music / bands / artists for the last 10 to 15 years.

 

This year will be the same as all the rest - there will be an official song which will by hyped like crazy, but will ****e, and there will be half a dozen low budget efforts that will be a bit of a laugh down the pub pre-match that we all prefer.

Was there an official one in 2010?

 

Yep, that monstrosity by Dizzee Rascal and James Corden which was essentially Shout by Tears For Fears with football lyrics and rapping...

Noo. Why did I ask - I had successfully blocked that from my memory.

Whenever I hear Coldplay, I get the urge to paint something beige.

 

Get the song from Mike Bassett- "It's on me head, son, not off me head"

Or even a remake of the 1970s tune- "Back Home".

The England squad at 25/1 seems remarkably generous odds seeing as I can think of three or four world cups where they did it.

 

The last one was 1986 though.
