No consistency ups sorry that's anti mod.

Personally I don't like moderation, it shouldn't be needed but I don like politics and religion either.

Fez used an excellent way of describing how football forums should be used.

Blokes sitting around a table in a pub. You wouldn't say half of the things said on here to someone's face.

Personally I'd happily tell Farrago to his face that he's a tosser, never mind blokes in a pub............ but if this isn't a political thread, mods, then I for one don't know what is.

I have read quite a few articles on UKIP recently and people are taking them seriously. I think most of what Farage says is just plain common sense and not just on immigration. Its too easy to say they are the protest vote plenty of people will vote for them because they believe what Farage has to say rather than the other three party leaders.

IMO Tony Benn was the worst example of a toff.He renounced his double barrelled name but I don"t think he gave away his money. If I remember correcctly a rough sleeper ended up sleeping in the garden of his expensive looking House.I hate guys who play the designer socialist but still live moneyed lives.
I sometimes wondered if he was a tory plant, along with the beardy socialist worker types,to make labour un electable.
I bet Benn has more money than most of us on this forum at this moment-regardless of our political loyaties

We've had a day for people to offer variations to what I'd said, so the OP should now be able to form an opinion on the party's importance. This is now only going to become more and more political, so as the politics rule exists and the thread has served its purpose I don't see any reason to leave it open any longer.

As you've quoted my post with that I'll go again as it's nothing to do with selective censorship.

My view is the thread was not in itself political as it wasn't seeking a discussion about policy. It was just asking how a group is seen in the UK, as being a foreigner/foreign based they have no context in which to place the party. As I said with the music example, it is perfectly possible to discuss how big UKIP are and where abouts on the political spectrum they are without bringing the actual rights and wrongs of the politics, or even the policies themselves into the discussion (which is where the arguments start). The OP can go and look on their website if they want to see the policies, and they can decide for themselves the rights or wrongs. Answering the OP's fair questions, which wouldn't really be too easy to research elsewhere and immediately closing the thread wouldn't have been the correct way to proceed, I'd have had somebody asking why I was allowed to comment on it but nobody was allowed to respond to that post, which is why I made the post you've quoted specifically saying it was close to being closed and asking people to focus on the acceptable (within the agreed rules) elements of it.
