That's like a description of me. I should have mentioned, it's the Downtown one that's best, it's the original one... Strip House Downtown 13 East 12th Street New York, NY 10003 P: 212.328.0000 please log in to view this image
You're right of course Mr Hatem. I tried to do multi-quote post once & ballsed it up. ( might have been the bevvy, more likely incompetence). Your second suggestion is probably more appropriate...I should respond less.
I'm back and I have to say it delivered on every front. What a city! We ate in some pretty amazing places and saw all the sights. My favourite experiences were; 1. Being shouted at by an old female tramp in Greenwich Village for not giving her any money, the rude old bag. 2. Being asked by a woman from Dallas where I was from and after being told 'England' then asked what language I spoke. 3. Our taxi nearly having it's window put in by an irate traffic cop on the Queensboro Bridge just as we arrived in Manhattan. The taxi driver and rozzer then had an almighty row with each other over whether the taxi had encroached a box junction. Welcome to New York!! 4. Getting caught up in the demonstrations about the death of Eric Garner. Obviously nothing to laugh about but seeing 3 police helicopters hovering over the skyscrapers searching the streets with spotlights and dozens of police vans screaming around with their sirens blazing was like being in a movie. I found New Yorkers to be a fascinating breed. If you've got a bit about you and are prepared to make an effort I found them warm, charming and polite. They won't go out of their way though and if you're a a bit insular and are easily offended I can see why some people take them as rude. I'll definitely be going back.
Number 2 is amazing. I found Noo Yoikers to be the friendliest people I've ever met and I didnt even leave Manhattan where they're meant to be at their rudest.
I forgot to mention, I also met Ricky Gervais in Bloomingdales. My lad had his photo taken with him, fair play to the fella he was really nice. Very humble and to be honest he couldn't have been any more pleasant. His other half was spot on as well.
Only bummers commented on your other post Carmine. THey're just not interested bitter is all. No one asked about me Malaga trip either. People are jealous of wealth good lucks fashion sense and large penis'sss and when you're the whole package, like what we are, well...
Glad you had a good time Carmine, did you meet any other notorious g stars on your trip? Any assassination attempts? How was your Malaga trip Chazz?
Add to that a luxurious Barnet and I'm not surprised there's a bit of envy going on. Not surprised at all. How was Malaga by the way?
It is the best city on the planet, I love New York and I hate London. IF you like shopping, or you're going with a lady who likes shopping - there's a discount retail outlet in New Jersey. It's about an hour on a coach from NY coach station - It's called Woodbury Common - stuff was cheap enough a few years ago with the $ to £ exchange rate, but this lopped another 30/40% off what you would pay here. I thought the Mrs was barking, so humoured her and said we'd spend the morning shopping. We were still there at ****ing 9pm closing time, after filling another empty suitcase with 'bargains'. Recommend the Cheesecake Factory. Recommend using gray line bus tours - from memory they have 4 loops - Uptown, Midtown, Downtown and Brooklyn. You get local knowledge and interesting info from the tour guide. Definitely do the Empire State - We went up at night and the views across a lit up NY sky line are incredible.
I remember having a brilliant dining experience at Tribeca Grill on Greenwich St. Robert De Niro owns the Gaf . Godfather
Had brunch at the place Harvey Keitel owns - he was in there anarl that that day. I'd never had 'brunch' before, but it was just bacon and eggs and toast at 11.00am and it cost more than breakfast. That's some kinda bullshit that. Brunch? Kin'ell. Love NYC though.
Glad to hear that. Lets face it, it must be mildly annoying for genuine celebs to be stopped wherever they go but its part of the deal - if you want people to watch / listen / read what you do then it matters to be nice when they approach you. What a heartwarming festive tale.
A lot of people dislike Gervais, but I quite like him and find him really funny. The Ricky Gervais Show is brilliant. I've never been to New York though. What's it like?
Glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to get back. I met rob wootton off sky, he was supposed to be doing the NY marathon but was recovering from pneumonia and had to watch! Don't know if he's back on the box? I know he's been off ill for a while. Very polite and full of praise for us and Brucey.
So people ask Chazz about his trip to Malaga and the stuck up old fart doesn't even have the decency to reply. I think he's just jealous of you carmine, your tales is New York blow his little Malaga trip out the water.
Very nice. People nicer than NY. They understand Cheese and its relation to meat. Good beer. Good looking women. Went with the mrs so meh
