I suspect you're trying to get me filled in Carmen.

    Why are you so cruel?

    I hate hurting people.

Historically it (Washington) was in Co. Durham, but it now lies within Tyne & Wear. Of course there is also a Philadelphia and a New York within Tyne & Wear.

Edit: for ellewoods, old wooden noshers is named after the place of his ancestors , Washington Village, where you can visit the 'Old Hall', his ancestral home. We get a few Yanks visiting and celebrations are sometimes held on the 4th July.

I doubt you'd be hurting anyone old friend.

It was a mere jest on my part, granted it's not the whimsical jape of the season but my timing is off kilter at the moment.

Why are you calling Carmen though you bitch?

You can be so hurtful as well.

    Peace?❤️

Just one of my hilarious jokes. Lol.

Anyway, I'm here all night (within sensible time parameters) for SERIOUS SUGGESTIONS about York pubs, for an evening of steady drinking.

I'm not going to no ****'ole!

Yes George and his family might have been named from there but the city was named for him. It isnt really the same thing of course. Now (since the 1800's) it isnt named for him at all as Washington DC is just a name we say the actual name of the place is the District of Columbia.

Get yourself a metro card and get out of the glitz. Go to Harlem get off at 124th and haves look round it's amazing The architecture and the locals. Then a stroll to the famous APollo theatre. Jump on the metro to Brooklyn and keep a good look out. Again amazing sites. (Jewish cemetry). onto coney for a walk along the main drag then a hot dog at NAthans. AWander around Chelsea market. Superb eats. I prefer the suburbs to the tourist traps
Oh and a wander around strawberry fields

I was thinking originally that you had meant of the older capitals that we have had and he just thought you meant DC.

Other places that have been our capital are Philly, Baltimore, Lancaster, York, Princeton, Annapolis, Trenton, and New York.

Just having a laugh as some people think New York is named after the city of York, not the Duke of York later King James ll, so thought I would throw in Washington up Sunderland way.

Zabars on 80th and Broadway for breakfast. Love it...Top tip : use the free Staten Island ferry and by food there...Much cheaper than Manhattan..reckon you'll safe 30% on a meal and a couple of beers. Areas to avoid..None really. NYC is much safer than it used to be. Don't forget to walk across and Brooklyn Bridge and visit Brooklyn. Views of lower Manhattan are great...Check out my Youtube video: Wallydaft...

Buying a CD from an aspiring rap artist is a must.

If you're going with your kids and the Knicks are in town then definitely try and get yourself to a game. It's quite the spectacle. The kids will love it, you probably will too.

    Dear tigerscanada,

Can't you do multi-quote posts like Tickler does? Easier to scroll through. Maybe you don't need to reply to so many posts?
