Wasn't it originally New Amsterdam? Anyway, evening river cruise along the Hudson River, fantastic steaks and ambience, great piano player on board. Definitely not a jeans and t-shirt occasion.
Hang on a minute, all i see on here is people moaning about the cost of a ticket to go and watch City play. And now it seems like every man and his dog has been living it up in New York. When i lived in Hull the nearest i got to New York was New Holland on the ferry across the Humber, are the streets of Hull now paved with gold ? Just teasing before you all start.
Thanks for all the tips fellas, no doubt I'll try a few out. FLG. I'm going with the wife and kids, as appealing as a seedy titty bar filled with gun toting gangsters is I'll have to give it a miss..........this time.
I'm taking over this thread, step aside Carmen. I'm going to realYork tomorrow, staying for the night. Now, I've been to the Real York plenty of times, never spent a night there, so anyone with sound advice on good places to eat and drink (centrally) will be listened to intently. I like proper pubs, with cracking beer, and nice warm atmospheres. My girlfriend likes places like Revolution...I'm paying, so just concentrate on what I like please. Regards PH
Last bit of advice! Get a metro card for the underground its miles quicker & cheaper for getting about! You can keep topping it up for as long as you're there! You just swipe your kids & Mrs through then yourself!
Cant be Washington DC he is talking about. The City was named after George Washington in 1791 (City of Washington) and the area around it was named after Christopher Columbus (The Territory of Columbia). Later the City and territory were merged together to form The District of Columbia which we commonly refer to as Washington DC.
Get yourself down the local in Tang Hall and ask the hardest Wharton out for a square go. It'll make a man of you.
