Sentimental bullshit. In those days, players used to have 10 cigs and a pint at half time. The level of defending and goalkeepers in particular, were a joke compared to now. In footage of old World Cups etc. you see 'keepers who can't even dive properly to make a save. Even the most mediocre teams in today's game can set up an organised defence and nick a 0-0 against a good side. It takes a lot more to score goals now than it did then.

The thing that makes watching Barca boring is the teams they play against. Blame the team sticking 11 men behind the ball and barely stepping a foot outside their own box, the anti football they use to try and keep Bara out. Don't blame the most talented team in the world for being too good. When a team has a go at Barca it makes excellent viewing, sadly even Man City shied away last night and had all but Negredo and Silva crammed into their own 6 yard box. Man City made it boring last night by parking the bus, as do practically every team Barca play against. The only people who could possibly hate Barca's style of play would be people who love watching Pulisball and teams sit in their own box and catapult long balls to a 10 feet tall forward. Just watching the Arse v Bayern. Jesus wept, the tempo at which Bayern work when they don't have the ball is absolutely ridiculous. Even in forward areas they work so hard.
