I was a Labour councillor for 14 years. The Corbyn campaign is being driven by a rag bag of left and Tories who are paying three quid to get a vote. I don't disagree with a lot of his agenda but Labour will be out of office for ten years at least. Joe Public are so cowed by the Tory Murdoch media that they wont vote for a candidate of the left. If he wins expect Labour to lose at least 50 more seats in 2020 plus a Liberal revival.
Having watched a few more videos of Corbyn talking and debating, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I will vote Labour if he is the leader. With the rise of Sanders in America and the potential that he could be president next year, it is the perfect time for Labour to go with a strong socialist voice. It'll pull a lot of young votes in and Corbyn's views on the environment could definitely pull a good number of green voters over.
please log in to view this image A photo can tell you a lot sometimes. This is Jeremy Corbyn on the night bus going home last night after another day of meetings and hustings. He has the lowest expenses of any parliamentarian. He has the best policies for the people of this country - and he may well be the next leader of the Labour Party.Photo Stuart Low.
All labour wants is a fair deal nothing more nothing less and put the Great back into Great Britain and it has to start in parliament where the MP's of all parties have been ripping off the tax payer for as long as i can remember. We need a complete overall of the system from the top to bottom if we are ever going to get a country that is well run and fairly run....
I have never voted in my life because they are all grey faced career politicians that truly don't care , they merely service the corporate overlords. Corbyn is the most genuine politician of my generation and Speaks a lot of sense. If he can get the shafted youth voting and represent public sector workers and Unions then he will be a credible opposition to the Bullingdon axis of evil Cameron Boris and Osbourne. Unless you are very rich I don't see the Tory appeal .
That's where the manipulative (mostly) right wing press has really worked it's magic by making joe shmoe think the Tories represent their best interests!
Nathan, why do you have a sort of 'stars and bars' in your avatar? i find that strange for someone who is clearly a focused socialist?
One man's 80s tv show stunt car is another man's racist hate symbol. You have a black man with no shoes sitting on the floor wearing a second hand city shirt as your Avatar. Should I assume you are Gambian ?. It's just a little picture no more no less. I would argue that your avatar ,(if that is not you in the image?) is far more racist than mine visually. I don't see either as being racist but you do . Weird.
All the people struggling to make ends meat after their tax credits were stopped ,all the school leavers 18/21 year olds who can't get housing benefit help If they have no home, all the people that pay union subs each month to get a fair deal from their employers, with contracted hours, sick pay and holiday entitlement will back Corbyn.
Sadly they won't and I only wish they did. During the run up to the GE in May I got the most abuse when out delivering Labour leaflets from exactly those people you mention. "F*** of you C*** they are all the F***ing same" Those people don't vote, they have dropped out of the system. What lost Labour the election more than anything was The Tories success in portraying Labour as potential bedfellows for the SNP . Jeremy Corbyn is a decent man, that is a distinct disadvantage in politics today, he would have admitted that he would deal with the SNP, IMO that strategy made sense anyway.
The values of the Corbyn wing if I may call it that and the SNP are very similar and a tactical alliance makes perfect sense in building a credible opposition in Parliament. Labour lost for a few resons but one was that teh Tories sold the line that effectively Scotland would be running England and Labour would have been instrumental in making that happen.
