Initial foul by Tevez didnt deserve a card of any type so that wouldnt get a retrospective punishment
If he deserved red for foul on Aguero or Tevez then surely he desrved 2 reds

    He got what he deserved

Did Barton and Tevez even collide hard enough, I just saw them both shoulder to shoulder then Tevez drops to the ground, then Barton kicked Aguero, went to headbutt Kompany although it slight looked like Lescott pushed his head towards Kompany's, then he had words with Balotelli

The off the ball foul by Tevez was nothing, yeah ok a foul but not in anyway the same as an elbow to the throat, therefore not the same punishment

john Terry got a red for a sly dig off the ball. Not elbow, not aimed at head.

Barton is a twat, but some of the stuff that he's done I've agreed with. Like him starting on Gervinho for being a cheating prick in the first game of this season and his assault on Aguero was deserved too IMO, the **** was all over the ref trying to get him sent off and he succeeded even though neither the ref nor the linesmen saw the incident.

Was that seen by one of the officials and dealt with on the pitch or was it given retrospectivley.
If it was given at the time it cant be compared

My point is he is just gets excessively harsh punishments even if he is his own worst enemy.

I reckon because we have weak people at the FA who dance to the Fleet Street tune

If that makes it ok, there would be an awful lot of players getting kicked while the ball isnt even in play in almost every Prem game

Possibly but wasnt that his second red of the season (I may be wrong) then he went off on his mission to get Man City players sent off

I admit his twitter rant did him no favours, but that just goes to show he doesnt use his brain in the right way on the pitch or off it, which is a real shame as I actually feel hes a clever bloke

He reacted 'badly' on Twitter to being singled out by Lineker and Shearer. Yes that's the Shearer who booted Neil Lennon in the head on the floor, and blackmailed the FA into dropping it by threatening not to play for England if he was charged.

By saying singled out you make it sound like they were all kicking players after the whistle had gone and trying to pick fights with players on the bench.
Its Linekers & Shearers job as pundits to asses the game, its major points and give their opinions.

Anyway Im leaving this one now got to get some kip for an early drive to the airport see you in a week when we still dont have a clue whats happening with Barmby or who the new manager is

It shouldn't make it OK you're right, but we allow far too much cheating and nonsense in our game, Aguero did get Barton sent off and he received no punishment for influencing the officials so dramatically. Equally with other forms of cheating, our rules completely ignore and allow it, but if someone reacts to it they'll get sent off and going back to the Gervinho incident, the action Barton took meant that Gervinho got what he deserved when he otherwise would have definitely got away with it.

    Great post pal.

This is the boy who goes on the Leeds board and calls Hull a **** hole.

He then acts like a condescending so and so on here

He'll be looking down his nose on where people live next.......... oh hang on.

If it wasn't for the new rules I dare say I may have called him a choice name or two.

You could say I'm not keen on this one.

Good to see him get a lengthy ban, if he'd done that in a sunday league game or in the street he'd be in serious trouble. Some of the Man City players are hardly whiter than white in this, but Barton went too far with things and his comments on Twitter will have only exacerbated things. He made his bed and now he has to lie in it.

The FA weren't allowed to take action against those offences as they were carried out under the jurisdiction of the referee.

He got off lightly, it should have been at least a 15 game ban:

He got a red card for violent conduct = 3 match ban
It was his 2nd red card of the season = 1 match ban
He committed a red card offence against Aguero = 3 match ban
It was his 3rd red card offence of the season = 2 match ban
He committed a red card offence by trying to nut someone else = 3 match ban
It was his 4th red card offence of the season = 3 match ban

You could probably add a "failing to leave the field of play having been dismissed" charge as well.
