A guy i work with put £300 on New Zealand to win the RWC, so i had to be sure.

Shame he's almost certainly lost what he won since <laugh>

Bet you were a bit pissed off at Valdes for about 30 minutes the other night then!

I'd have thought you'd get better odds than that, when did you put it on? After the 6-1 drubbing of United?

couple of weeks ago, barca where 6 points behind at the time so they where decent odds, was banking on them winning in madrid!(and praying).. man city where 5 clear and where odds on..
think it was roughly man city 1/2 - taylor 10/11 - barca 6/4 something like that anyway...

You're partly right. I haven't seen the Toure one. It doesn't really matter though, I wasn't saying anything about the kick itself.

My point was simply that OLM's reaction to a player we don't care about was a common sense one, that no action needed to be taken for a daft kick. However if it was Rooney, Terry or Ashley Cole it would be front page news, they'd blame his temper and infidelity, and everyone on here would be saying how daft it was. It really is a ridiculous situation now, that the protocol is to condemn a high-profile English player who makes any tiny error and that anyone who doesn't hate his national team is talking insular bollocks.

i watched the game live and the replays thereafter. the 2nd booking was weak but typical of how the game is nowadays. it was a pen regardless of which angle was shown and clattenburg was right on top of it. as Graham Poll has said this week, there is nobody else so the clubs will just have to live with the refs as they are. but as for Foy ? well that bloke must be on something.
