Inspired by this thread I went to the chippy for my lunch and the 3 people in front of me in the queue asked for scraps. Genuine. This was in Hunslet.
Are you sure thats where youre getting them from? My neighbour owns and runs it and his car is still on his drive, I will let him know that its a favourite of many even tho Ive never been in Who ever said the one in Brandsburton cant have been recently the fish is over cooked and real dry
No its not, its called Fish and Chips at 149. Overpriced, cant park within 10,000 miles, and no better than many others.
I'm going to have to confess I'd never ever heard of this good friday chippy tradition until today. I went to my local chippy today, my local being Smithy's on Bev Road. £2.50 for fish, chips and peas is what keeps pulling me back there, the food is good but I wouldn't argue that its the best in Hull. The best I've ever had is the famous one in Whitby; it was ridiculously expensive (I didn't pay) but very nice. Guilty.
You've never heard of fish and chips on a Friday?? O/T but how is Smithy's your local when you live W Hull/Hessle?
r/e the award winning one in brid ... It's the batter that has the so called special taste... But the chips are ****e .. Audreys in the town do better fish n chips imo ..
