Ah, I understand your confusion. You think I'm a scientist. I'll take that as a compliment. I understand how science works. It's a process whereby every scientist is out to disprove those before them. During this process reality is found. It's a never ending cycle where certainties are never proclaimed.
That's not how science works at all. To assume all science can be umbrellaed into one broad statement is madness.
There are scientists who are committed Christisns/Muslims etc. They must be able to seperate the two things to do the work.
but that is how all science works , many have spent a lifetime trying to prove their own theories wrong in the only way to prove it right . . . . until otherwise . that is the bedrock of all science research

This board has surprised me before - sometimes stunned me - but the idea that an actual adult believes that once your mammalian functions cease working, your inner 'magic spirit' continues to walk the earth whilst somehow, miraculously retaining the appearance of your previous living body, is not something I ever thought I'd encounter.
Why are you being so condescending about it? If you don't believe it, then fine, don't. Why is somebody elses belief any more ridiculous than what you believe in?
You're doing exactly the same to me. If you believe in it fine, do. Why is somebody else's belief any more ridiculous than what you believe in?
You've become offended by his belief. I think that religion is a load of old bollocks, I don't go round laughing at people for it.
No, I'm not saying you shouldn't believe what you like, I'm saying you shouldn't belittle others that believe in something that might seem strange to you. What you believe in, in terms of the supernatural, which I imagine is the opposite to me, is perfectly believeable. You don't believe that ghosts exist, that's fine, I can believe that. What annoys me is that you can't accept that there are people out there who do. And that their views aren't believable because they don't match your own viewpoint.
Here here. I lived in Leicester for 5 years and religion is a big part of the culture there and a few idiots aside, its great to live in a city where that kind of diversity is promoted and not put on the back burner.
