Sadly that's spot on. Even more sadly is it's been true for donkeys years but people get wrapped up in North v South crap, or just see the UK with their own narrow minded view of it all. I don't get why anyone would rejoice in seeing other peoples misery, especially the ones suffering in the SW.

I knew they'd let Somerset, Devon and Cornwall just sink, and would only do something when it hit the Thames Valley. The deep south is just there for the summer hols, they all live in the middle bit along the Thames so thats where their supporters and money lives.

I'm just pleased we live further north and east and that we're relatively unscathed, but seeing the disaster unfold on TV is sickening while politicians do bugger all except stand in wellies in the water to deliver platitudes.

Watched the Ghurkas helping save some of these arseholes homes tonight, the same people who this government treats like utter ****e, makes my blood boil tbh.

There's no ****ing difference in poshness these days, or greed, or dishonesty, or untrustworthiness.

They had Eric Pickles on the One show tonight. It was a flood special. Man on sofa with him asked him where was the help in 2007 for places lke East Yorkshire and Humberside.<doh> and said with the help the govt is giving now for flooding in the south won't it set a precedent for all future floods.

Yeah we had a Labour govt back then, and a LibDum corporation.

Minns sounded the alarm but the ever loyal Labour apparatchik Diana Johnson disputed his figures claiming he was exaggerating.

Putting her party loyalties before the needs of this city.

    Beyond contempt.

    Eh?

It was a LibDum corporation with Carl 'Minge' Minns at the helm.

Now that is a good quote and sums up things in a few words. The frightening thing about all this as it unfolds is that we are totally at the mercy of nature and can do nothing to stop any of this. America is also having their bad storms only their's are snow and ice.

Would do Hull a lot of good for us to make a public offering of help to the afflicted poshos down there.

Sort of 'We'll help you even if you did **** all for us'.

The more astute media commentators would pick it up.

Well there must be a ****load of caravans in Hull to be sent down for them to live in whilst they're waiting for their houses to be sorted. Even if it means cranking up production at Swift.
