The government have not insisted in libraries being shut, they simply have cut back on spending etc, due mainly to labours rampant overspending whilst in power. The labour council simply then chooses which services to cut back on, which are the ones which people don't want cutbacks in, this then enrages the public whilst the labour council blame the cuts on the government which in turn helps labours overall running in the polls. In other words it's your labour council who are deliberately choosing service cuts to piss you off whilst paying their execs the highest wages in the whole of Yorkshire.

Libraries are great. My grandparents are using the local library to do a family tree.

Well given my wife works for the libraries the cuts won't be made until next year at the latest.

I am 99% certain that they are going into private hands whatever we do won't help them.

I have done the poll for you Chazz as clearly i have some vested interest in them staying open also!

All done Chazz. My wifes a registered childminder and regularly takes small groups of children of various ages to our local and central library. The children always enjoy these outings so it will be a great shame if the funding cuts do go ahead.
